Captain Trey stood on a raised stone platform in the center of the tribunal chamber, his expression defiant, head held high.
Around him, rows of seats formed a steep semicircle, occupied by other Order captains and their squad members, all watching with varying expressions of interest, disdain, and curiosity.
At the forefront, three of the seven Grandmasters presiding over the tribunal wore their traditional red robes, their faces impassive and severe.
"Captain Trey of Squad Three," one of the Grandmasters intoned, his voice echoing across the silent chamber, "you are charged with interference in the Order's Exam—a direct violation of the rules we have all sworn to uphold."
Trey met their gaze without a hint of remorse.
The Tribunal's authority seemed to wash over him as he bowed his head in front of the Grandmasters.
The lead Grandmaster's voice grew colder.
"Do you deny these charges?"
