#Chapter16

Taking over

Talus' POV

I hate being held in chains. I detested it. It reminded me of hell. Somewhere I didn't like visiting. Clanks sounded as Isalo shook, groaning loudly. Chains were bounded at both his ankles and neck. The same was done to me.

We were in a room with metal bars before us. Light sneaked inside through the grate in the ceiling. Night was crawling in and if I didn't get out of here soon, there will be no hope of capturing this place.

Two guards were outside the room, their hands on their hilts. They were carefully watching us. Their eyes for once didn't leave the room. Torches were hung on the walls next to them, lighting up the place.

/"Don't worry, we'll get out of here,/" I said, my eyes to Isalo.

He closed his eyes and exhaled. /"I know we will./" He locked eyes with me. /"I have you./"
