Demeter noticed many of the nymps swarming around Persephone and became curious. She walked over to see what all the fuss was about, and noticed the patch of blue roses that her daughter had grown.
Persephome glanced at her mother and smiled proudly at her work, never had she been able to grow such pretty roses before.
"Aren't they beautiful?" Persephone mumbled as she plucked one of the flowers and presented it to her mother. "I was thinking they would be a wonderful addition to this year's spring batch."
Demeter took the rose and twirled it in her hand, and then gave it a brief sniff. "It definitely is interesting," she responded. "Never seen anything quite like it, what inspired you to conjure such a flower?"
Persephone averted her mother's gaze, she couldn't tell her that her inspiration was Hades, the king of the underworld, Demeter would skin her alive and use her remains as manure.
