Chapter 44: Broken Promise
Kelvin, overcame with anger and pain held his parents picture tightly, laid on his bed, venting his emotions before sleep embraced him.
"Father, mother, can I come with you both?" A young teenage boy asked, a smile lighting up his face.
His mother crouched down to match his height, placing her hand on his head. "No, dear, your father and I are going somewhere dangerous, so you can't come with us." She patted his head.
"But Mum, if it's dangerous, why are you and father going?" The boy inquired.
Before his mother could respond, his father chimed in, "Not that it's dangerous, son, but it's meant for adults. That's why we can't take you with us."
With disappointment, the boy nodded, "Okay, Dad, but promise you'll be back early."
"Yes, son, we promise we'll come back before you know it," his father said, smiling. "Come here, my boy, give your parents a hug." He added, embracing his wife and son.
