Part 5

First day of work :-

Jennifer's pov :

It's my first day of work, I just hope I don't see that jerk's face. Oh no! How can I forget, I am his secretary. Why, just why, why God why, do you hate me this much?? Ugh! Leave it, I have to focus on the challenge, otherwise he'll win and then I'm doomed.

Looks at the watch.

Jennifer : Oh no!! It's already 8 am and I'm not ready yet. 

Hailey : Jenn!! Are you not ready yet? If you're ready, then please come and eat your breakfast.

Jennifer : Coming mom.

No one's pov:-

Jennifer goes inside the bathroom and does her morning routine. After half an hour, she gets ready and goes down for breakfast.

After eating breakfast, Jennifer leaves for her office with her father, taking Mia along with her.

In office :-

Robert : Jenn and Mia! All the best for your first day. Do your work properly and try not to upset the boss. And take care.

Jennifer  (in mind) :Boss! My foot.

Jennifer : Ok dad, you also take care.

Mia : Thank you uncle!

Robert goes away to his department. After sometime, at exact 9 am, footsteps can be heard and everyone present in the reception area stops and bows to their boss.

Tan stops infront of Jennifer, who's bowing her head down just like everyone.

Tan : Everyone, heads up. *Everyone follows his command and start doing their assigned work*

Tan (whispers to Jennifer) : It feels so nice seeing you bowed infront of me.

Jennifer : *grits her teeth, trying to control herself from bursting her anger over her new boss, who seems too much annoying for her*

Tan (to everyone) : Everyone! Attention please, today I wanna introduce you all to my new secretary, Miss Jennifer Wilson.

Everyone : Hello, Miss Jennifer and congratulaions.

Jennifer  (in mind) : Congratulations!? Really!! You must be kidding me. I don't even wanna work here. Especially, not as his secretary.

Jennifer : Thanks !! *Forced smile*

Tan (whispers to Jennifer) : I know, you don't wanna be here. But, you know what, I don't care.

Jennifer (whispers to Tan) : Oh really! But, did I asked for your opinion?

Listening to Jennifer's savage reply, Tan clenches his jaw and again whispers to Jennifer.

Tan (whispers to Jennifer) : You'll regret this.

Tan (to everyone) : Everyone, go back to your work. And, Miss Jennifer, come with me.

Jennifer : Ok sir!

Tan and Jennifer heads to the lift. They enter the lift and Tan presses floor no. 20 button. Lift starts going up, but suddenly lift's light start to flicker and then there's darkness. After few seconds lift also stops, realising this Jennifer starts panicking and turns on her phone's flashlight, with her shivering hands.

Jennifer : Why this lift's not working?

Tan : I've told the mechanic to fix this, it will be ok till evening.

Jennifer : I can't breathe, please h-help me. *Breathing heavily*

Tan : I can help you, but you won't like my way of helping you.

Jennifer : I-i won't say anything, p-please h-help m-me.

Tan : Ok then, as you wish! But don't blame me later.

Tan hugs her softly and start caressing her back, after sometime lights turn back on and lift start working. Tan softly says to Jennifer.

Tan : Everything is fine now.

Listening this, Jennifer immediately leaves Tan and whispers a thanks. They both stand there awkwardly, soon after lift reaches the 20th floor and Jennifer rushes out. Tan goes behind Jennifer. Tan calls Emma.

Tan : Miss Emma, in my cabin, right now.

Emma rushes to the cabin and knocks, after hearing a cold 'come in', she enters the cabin. She sees Jennifer standing there and Tan sitting on his chair.

Emma : Good morning Ta- , I mean sir! What do you want me to do?

Tan : Miss Emma, I want you to explain Miss Jennifer her work as my secretary. And, please improve your clothing. These type of clothes are not allowed in a formal place like this, I hope, you will remember this. If you do it's better for you. *spoke Coldly*

Emma :Ohk sir! I'll remember that.

Tan : You both can leave now.

Emma : Ok sir!

Emma starts explaining Jennifer her work. She (Emma) takes her (Jennifer) to the store room.

Emma : This is the store room, here you can find all documents. Beside the store room, it's printing room. Here, you can come when you have documents to be photocopied.

Jennifer : Ohk. *Nods her head*

Jennifer and Emma were just heading to other rooms, just then a mysterious room with a board of *DO NOT ENTER* caught her eyes. So, she asked Emma about it.

Jennifer : Miss Emma! Can you please tell me, what's inside that room? *Pointing towards the room*

Emma : Oh that! We are not allowed to enter in that room, it's kind of mysterious, I also don't know about it. And if someone tries to know about that room or enter that room, he or she get fired. Once a employee entered that room, and trust me no one till now know, where that employee went. Even his records are cleared from the government offices, like he never existed.

Jennifer wanted to know more, but the fear of getting ended up, like that employee, stopped her. She just nodded her head and headed to other rooms with Emma.

Time skip :- after half an hour.

Emma knocks on Tan's cabin door, after hearing a 'come in' , she alongwith Jennifer enters the room.

Emma : Sir, I've told her all about her work and also gave a little building tour.

Tan : Ok good! So, Miss Jennifer, now that you're aware of everything. I guess, you are ok with starting your work from now only!

Jennifer : Yes sir!!

Tan : Ok! So, now go to your cabin and open the cupboard, you'll find some files there. Go to the printing room and get their 10 copies each.

Jennifer : Ok sir!

Jennifer goes to her cabin, but...

Jennifer : Oh My God!!
