Chapter(46)

Episode(46): The hero's might!, They were all speechless

SOVEEOGN OF DEATH~(46)

The dazzling radiance of the holy sword lit up the entire hall.

The light covered the massive expanse of the banquet and there was no doubt that had it been outside the glow would have definitely been enough to light up a huge radius.

Right now Renji had a glow similar to the blinding sun.

Everyone seeing this sight suddenly felt hope. Hope that the hero would definitely win against the demon and prevail.

At that moment, someone couldn't help but shout with a hopeful expression.

[Hero!]

They prayed with all their might.

Please, please grant the hero the strength to overcome this monster and come out victorious.

On the other hand, seeing the new item appear from out of nowhere, Sullivan's expression was far from scared.

Rather he was intrigued and fascinated as he glanced at the sword.

[That's the holy sword?]

It was the first time he had ever seen an armament hero up close.

Although he had heard about hero's that had a holy weapon as their trait and could summon it out of nowhere, those heroes were extremely rare.

Lionhart and all the other heroes of the past were elemental heroes and not of them ever had a weapon trait but seeing the holy sword up close Sullivan nodded.

[How splendid]

But then he laughed.

[A superb weapon indeed, a pity however. With an owner as incompetent as yourself such a weapon is bound to never stand out!]

Sullivan chuckled.

At this time, Renji had long gone mad with rage and stomped out.

Every word that Sullivan said was like a sharp dagger piercing his chest and his anger blazed more and more.

What's even more hateful was that the guy before him was even more handsome than himself.

How could he tolerate such a thing?

Renji madly circulated his energy through his body and rushed out.

His single stomp brought him forward like a bullet and he arrived before Sullivan in just a few steps.

The moment Renji closed the distance, he didn't even hesitate before he drew his sword from its sheath.

The sound of metal sliding off it's sheath entered into everyone's ears as the holy sword was drawn and cut through the air.

Sullivan who was at the end of this attack looked at this attack with lazy and disappointed eyes.

It was an attack without skill or any technique.

It was a strike with only brute force.

This wasn't a bad thing, however that was only in the case where the attacker was extremely powerful and techniques and skill didn't matter much at all.

But in Renji's case, even with a body blessed by god his physical prowess was still laughable.

Especially before an elite demon like Sullivan, comparing physical prowess?

What a joke!

You were better off comparing who could grow better cabbages.

Sullivan didn't even bother enhancing his body with magic.

He didn't need to.

If he did that it would be like a grown adult asking a kid to race only to pull out a sports car and say it's fair because he's an adult.

At the moment, if he really used magic, Renji might not even survive the force from his evasion.

He lightly stepped aside.

His movements were so swift and graceful that it looked like he did it with no effort.

As for the attack, it didn't even ruffle his clothes.

Renji gritted his teeth and pouring strength into his arms he twisted his body and swung again.

The blade whizzed through the air with power enough to slice through several blocks like butter.

A divine glow surrounded the sword and exploded in the air.

This was his ability to use divine power as a hero.

Any attacks containing divine power regardless whether it was a weak attack or strong attack was bound to cause a demon significant damage.

He was sure of it this time, his win was in the bag!

However Sullivan chuckled.

[You think such a small match stick can hurt me? Laughable!]

He avoided the attack like a plague and glided past Renji with incredible speed.

Renji gritted his teeth in anger.

All he could see was a shadow move past him but the words Sullivan said were clear as day.

How could he not be enraged by this at all?

He quickly spun around all the while waving his sword and generating force cutting at his opponent.

Sullivan on the other hand skillfully dipped under the attack before he stood back up standing face to face with Renji.

There was a playful smirk on his face as if asking if that was all he had and his eyes were filled with disdain.

Of course, how could a vain person like Renji not be caught in such an obvious pit fall?

He immediately became enraged upon the fact that this guy was messing around and treating him like a fool.

His movements became more wild and erratic and even though his every swing was filled with power, none hit Sullivan.

He easily glided through the attacks like he was one with the wind.

Predicting each and every moment that Renji made wasn't that hard.

To begin with Renji was like a wild animal so it was easier to predict his movements and secondly Renji was just too weak.

Not to mention his killing intent allowed the enemy to know where he was going to strike.

If Renji was strong enough then all these factors wouldn't matter but the fact stood that Renji was incredibly weak.

Sullivan could just take a glance and he would find nearly a hundred or even ten thousand flaws all at once.

[Haaah!!]

Renji didn't know he was being analyzed at all.

Even so he didn't need to know.

All he could see was the contempt and disdain the other party had for him and it made the flame of fury within him blaze up.

He couldn't stand it.

What's more he was getting exhausted and more disheveled as time passed.

Thinking about how his image would plummet if he couldn't even chase the demon away, Renji gritted his teeth.

If this continued where would his face be?

He prepared to use his ultimate attack.

Although he would be dead tired immediately after he needed to get rid of this demon and cement his reputation!

Focusing on the power amassing in his body, he circulated it all towards the sword.

When all the divine power rushed into the sword it was like the cry of a beast bellowing at the sky.

The sword shrieked with streaks of golden light appearing and disappearing around its sword body like the sparks of a flame.

Holding the sword in his hand, Renji poured all his energy into the attack not holding back a single ounce of his power.

He had to destroy this demon and to do so he would go all out.

After a while he felt the terrifying surge of energy coming from the sword as it buzzed and hummed menacingly he thought for sure, even the haughty demon couldn't come out of this attack unscathed.

With that thought he smirked at the demon expecting to see him with a panicked expression.

He wanted this guy to beg and plead with a sorry expression. Wouldn't such a picture look way too cool for the girls?

Just watch how I, the hero and 'God's chosen' show my might!

At the same time he stomped out with his right leg and swung the sword.

The light exploded and covered the figure of the demon in its brilliance.

The magnificent power caused the ground to tremble and quake slightly and a wind swept up in all directions like a storm.

Everyone, Renji included expected the demon to scurry off in a panic as he tried to escape the attack.

Instead, Sullivan wore a disdainful smile as he glanced up at the attack.

It was as if he was saying that this was all the hero had in him?

He shook his head.

Lionhart could stand toe to toe against demons several levels higher than himself when he was alive.

However this hero was a stark comparison.

It almost made him want to spit in absolute disgust.

He was truly disappointed and the hero was indeed just an overestimation of his value.

In actuality the hero was naught but trash.

[Then, let me show you what true power means hero!]

Sullivan formed a sword sign with two fingers.

With his two finger outstretched, a black ominous aura exploded from his body and formed an energy sword at the tips of his fingers.

The energy quickly expanded to form a long sword shape and without hesitation Sullivan swung his fingers.

In a mere instant the attack filled with divine power lethal to all demons was cut through as easily as butter!

Everyone blinked and looked at the sight.

They were speechless.

The magnificent attack that lit up the area like daytime was easily countered by the black energy as dark as night encasing all their hopes in darkness before it could properly sprout.

What was even worse was the fact that divine magic was a great counter for demons.

It didn't matter how strong they were, so long as you weren't a wielder of divine magic yourself and were a demon, divine magic would most definitely cause significant damage.

And yet the opposite occurred.

They were speechless.

Just how strong did a demon have to be to counter divine power so effortlessly?

At that moment, it didn't matter who it was. They all felt a chill creeping down their spine.
