67. Magic Gun

What Indra has finished is a method to make firearms effective against monsters. Firearms are powerful, but they somehow can't even penetrate E-Rank monsters' skins.

The reason is because of the monster's magic power that protects their bodies from non-magic attacks. Hunters can injure them even with physical attacks because hunters' bodies are also covered with magic power.

But normal bullets don't have magic power at all and so are normal cold-weapons. Powerful weapons like nuclear bombs will have an effect, but the damage caused to the surroundings are too great.

That's why Jin Woo asked Indra to make firearms that can penetrate the monsters' bodies. They don't need to be powerful. Their original firepower is more than enough to kill low level monsters as long as the bullets can penetrate the monsters' defense.

In the original timeline, many lives were lost because of monster outbreaks. The military of each country did their best to stop the monsters, but their firearms can't even damage the monsters.

The number of hunters was never enough to handle everything. Besides, the monster outbreak happened because hunters failed to clear the dungeons.

So they always needed time to gather hunters to stop the outbreaks. By the time the hunters arrive, there would be a lot of victims if they couldn't come faster.

But more than that, Jin Woo wants humans to be able to stand for themselves, even the non-awakeners. To do that, they will need weapons that can be used by non-awakeners.

Even if these weapons won't be as powerful as the Hunters' abilities, they will still be helpful in fighting the monsters. But they will need to make sure these weapons won't be misused, so Indra needs to make plans for that.

Fortunately, only Indra can produce these magic guns. To be precise, they need his Rune Magic. He doesn't make them himself from start to finish because he can't.

By carving specific Runes into magic crystals and placing it into guns that have been made specifically, they can produce guns that shoot magic bullets.

There's another type too. It uses normal guns, but the bullets contain magic power that will allow them to break through monsters' magic power defense.

The 1st type is stronger and can be used inside the dungeons, but the production is harder and costs more. While the 2nd type is weaker and can't be used in dungeons, it's easier to make and a lot cheaper.

Indra also wants to make a type that uses the Hunters' magic powers. But he still can't find the correct configurations that can produce high power without taking too much of the Hunters' magic power.

There may be side effects too if they use Hunters' magic power directly, so he needs more research. Besides, just these 2 types will be enough to shake the world and he's sure countries will flock to get these weapons.

Indra plans to launch these weapons at the yearly International Guild Conference in the USA. Only the strongest hunters and Guilds of the countries are invited there, so Moon Rabbit Guild is always the representative of Indonesia.

That event will be held in a month, so Indra can prepare a few prototypes to show in the Conference. It will also be a good place to get business partners to produce the weapons.

Moon Rabbit can't mass produce these weapons because it isn't a firearm manufacturer. Indra needs the magic guns to be produced by a good manufacturer so the magic guns will have good qualities.

He isn't worried about them stealing his technology because these magic guns won't work without him. They can carve the runes needed on the weapons, but only he can activate those runes for the guns to be usable because he is the only one who has Rune Magic.

Anyway, just a week after Indra and Jin Woo talked over the phone, there's big news that takes the world's attention. The appearance of another S-Rank in South Korea.

The reason it becomes big news is because the new S-Rank is Sung Il Hwan's son. A National Level Hunter's son awakened as an S-Rank is something that never happened before, after all.

Indra just smirks seeing Jin Woo finally decide to show up. He knows it's because Jin Woo wants to attend the International Guild Conference to see the magic guns. That's why Indra said it's time for Jin Woo to show up when they talk.

This magic gun project was Jin Woo's idea, after all, so he surely wants to check how good the magic guns are with his own eyes. It will also be a good chance for them to meet again.

But now will be a good time for them to finally meet again and they have something planned in this year's International Guild Conference other than publishing the magic guns.

A month passes quickly and it's finally time for the Conference. Moon Rabbit Guild's arrival in the USA is taking a lot of attention as usual because they are the only Guild in the world that has 2 National Level Hunters and both are siblings.

They don't seem to be carrying much luggage even though Indra plans to introduce quite a lot of things. It's because he stores them in his system inventory. Carrying weapons through the airports is just asking for too much trouble even though he himself is more dangerous than any manmade weapons.

Then the night before the conference, Indra sneaks out of his room and goes to the hotel's rooftop. He sips the hot strawberry milk drink he made in his room. It's his favorite drink and he always has it stocked in his inventory so he can drink it anytime.

"An adult man is drinking hot strawberry milk? How funny."

"But it's tasty."

A figure suddenly comes out of the shadow behind Indra. It's none other than the one and only, the Shadow Monarch, Sung Jin Woo.

Jin Woo looks much younger than when Indra met him before his reincarnation. Well, Jin Woo can easily change his appearance however he wants anyway. His current appearance is to match his current age in this timeline.

"Not bad, you have grown a lot. Seems like you've been putting a lot of effort to get stronger."

"Of course. The enemies are powerful beings that can destroy planets with ease. My growth depends on my effort, so I am doing my best to keep getting stronger."

This is yet another reason why Indra is very serious about the magic gun project. If his magic guns are used to kill monsters, then he will also absorb those monsters' magic powers and get stronger with other people's help.

"Where are they?"

"Straight to business? Don't you miss me at all?"

"Never. I miss my wife and my son instead of you."

Indra takes out the magic gun prototypes his craftsman team made. They could only make a pair of pistols and rifles because of their limited knowledge about firearms.

He shoots all 4 weapons to check their power.

"Yeah, you really need a good gun manufacturer to produce these. I can't even say how terrible they are in my hands."

"Tsk! You were the one giving me this annoying work and now you don't even compliment me."

Jin Woo giggles seeing the pissed Indra. Of course, Indra is doing a good job with this project. It's just that neither him or his men have ever made guns before, so of course, their creations are not good.
