CHAPTER FOURTEEN

The party went on and Madi still remained quiet. Ivy and Davina had tried to find out the reason for her sudden calmness, but she lied about having a head ache, and they let her be.

Soon, the anchor of the party invited the exam coordinator to come on stage and announce the name of the three lucky students that won the scholarship into Crestfield.

Finally, this was the moment everyone has been waiting for.

"Hello students" the exam coordinator greeted as soon as he got on stage.

"Hello mr Jonah" the students responded.

"Ehmm I wanna say a big thank you to all of you for showing up, and I must commend you guys did marvelously well at the examination. Students this year were more serious" he announced, and students cheered.

"I see many of you now understand why Crestfield is the best, and everybody wants to get in. We had 5.6 million participants this year, and only very few of them failed, the rest of the students tried so much" he continued.

"They did their best so much that we had a hard time in picking the best three, but as usual we have our lucky three. In every game there must be winners, and do not take it as if you lost if your name does not eventually appear here" he encouraged.

"Yes sir" the students responded.

"So we have the names here, and we are gonna be calling them out on stage tonight" he announced, and the crowd cheered.

"I believe everyone that sat for the examination is present here tonight, but in case you are not the news is gonna reach you, coz this party is showing live now on your television screen right now" he announced, and the students applauded.

"So now it is time" he said and everyone looked up expectantly.

"The three lucky students who are gonna be admitted into Crestfield High tonight are. Number one..." he said and paused.

Now the whole place was as silent as a grave yard, with everyone having their expectations high. Everyone wanted to hear the names of the lucky students.

Madi was silently praying. She somehow had this feeling that she would be admitted this year, coz she had waited so long for this moment.

Ivy on the other hand was also curious. She did not like the way they were boasting about Crestfield and all that, both the students and teachers were full of pride. But she could not deny the fact that she was anxious also, really anxious.

"So the first student to be admitted into Crestfield High, obviously the best is...Fiona Tana from Nolly's High School" he announced and the crowd cheered very loudly.

The Fiona girl stepped out with a broad smile on her face, she was crying and laughing at the same time. She was so happy.

👦"She's so lucky, I wish I was her" students kept saying as she walked out.

"Congratulations!" the man said and shaked her hands, and some other men and women still came up to give her a handshake.

"Okay settle down, the announcement continues" he announced and the students located their seats.

"Now the number two is Audrey Keeler from Basic High School" he announced and the crowd cheered.

And like a flash, the boy rushed on stage and knelt down there. He was feeling so grateful, and people began hugging him and shaking also.

Madison was already worried, it's remaining just a slot. Oh dear lord!

Castillo sat on his seat watching closely and quietly, and this made Madison more curious, coz he was seeing every student on stage, and this was her chance to be noticed.

"And lastly, we have Ivy Crownway from West High School" he announced and their table went silent immediately. While so many students, especially students from West High cheered Ivy.

Davina was beaming happily.

"Ivy you made it" she yelled and hugged her

Alvin stood up from his table and raised her up in a mighty hug.

"Ivy Crownway, we're waiting for you" mr Jonah added, and immediately Ivy dropped her down and began pushing her to the stage.

Ivy was dumbstruck, this is so strange, she never expected it. She just wrote the examination to her knowledge, she could not believe her ears.

She went and stood in front of the crowd and they cheered her, she also received hand shakes from different people.

As she faced the crowd, then she knew how much the students were. They were like ants on the hill.

They arranged them as they stood, with Fiona in the center, Audrey at the right, and Ivy at the left. And they faced the crowd.

"Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the three lucky students. Fiona Tana, Audrey Keeler, and Ivy Crownway" he announced, and the crowd cheered louder.

And immediately this was said, Castillo who had been watching all this while with sheer attention stood up, he was ready to go now.

The rest of the C4's also joined him in standing up. He looked at the crowd for sometime and started walking away, and the rest of them trailed behind.

Cassie was still holding him as they walked out, drawing all attention from the students to themselves. Some students were still trying to touch them, but the bouncers were holding them back.

They walked to their various cars and got in, and next they moved, it was a convoy as so many cars were leaving the compound.

Cassie did not join them in their car, as she waved them goodbye she walked straight to her own car and got in. Her friends Natasha and Anabella joined in, and they left also.

Madison was completely taken aback when all this was happening. Ivy again! She was yet to recover from what just happened, and now this again.

She was too tired to chase after Castillo this time. He did not even look her way, but this is making it the second time he's seen Ivy today.

Seeing Ivy on stage, she felt like walking up to her and slapping her real hard across the face. She has been writing this exam for years now without passing, and now Ivy just passed the same exam in just one trial.

It is done! Ivy has drawn the battle line between the both of them, and she would have to pay dearly now.

"She is gonna go to Crestfield High now, and she feels on top of the world, although she is pretending" Madi snarled with tears dropping from her eyes.

She looked at the stage and saw people congratulating the newly admitted students including Ivy, and Davina was there too.

"Let her enjoy all this for now, but it is not for too long. Madi would be back!" She said and stood up in annoyance, she wiped off her tears and next she stormed out of the party, not minding what was going on.
