Two months ago, on the 4th month of General Euandros' disappearance, the Eurypontid King returned.
He looked like he was in a terrible, murderous mood, and everyone was too frightened to be even seen by him. His horse galloped and almost stampeded a few of them. He halted by the gates, and announced with his booming voice:
"King Drakophios has betrayed us! He had colluded with the Athenians, and they had held me in captivity for months! He is a traitor!"
The people mumbled amongst themselves, and the elders were very much distressed by this news.
"What can we do now!? First our greatest navarch betrays us, and now our very own king!"
He narrowed his eyes. "What?"
Elder Croucellios sneered at this. "You do not know, Your Majesty? General Euandros had run away along with members of his fleet. If you were not held captive, perhaps you could have known, but you must have been sleeping under a rock."
