Chapter 16: “Flaming Ember”

The 'Bone Dragon' received five direct hits of lightning strikes from Yusoph's "Heaven's Wrath" which was a fifth-tier magic spell but due to several enhancements, it's almost as strong as a peak sixth-tier magic spell.

The Bone Dragon had been interrupted from releasing its destructive attack and was outbalanced due to heavy attacks dealt by Yusoph.

[Inside the "Shield's almighty defense" of Dea]

All four "Flaming Ember" members hoped that Yusoph had succeeded in stopping the 'Bone Dragon' from continuously attacking.

"Did you succeed Yusoph?" Rubia asked Yusoph.

"I can sense that it received a direct hit from my magic spell" Yusoph replied to Rubia's question, and he looks at Dea who seems to be in a better condition than earlier.

A short moment had passed and a trembling of the surface can be felt by the "Flaming Ember".

"I succeeded!" Yusoph said to his colleagues.

Rubia redirected her eyes to Dea and said "Dea, quickly retrieve your shield after I count from one to three, got it?" Rubia's command to Dea.

"And Tom, you will be staying here. While myself, Dea, and Grandell will continuously attack that 'Bone Dragon', I know you are already aware of what you are going to do." She said to Tom.

"Grandell, you already heard what I have said to Tom. We will continuously attack that 'Bone Dragon' and always keep your keen eyes for possible danger from that monster." Rubia informed Grandell about the danger they will be possibly facing.

"And lastly, Yusoph, Prepare the strongest offensive Magic spell that you know, we will act as a pawn for you to cast it successfully." She gave this task to Yusoph because it's widely known that mages' attacks are crucial in turning the table.

"We don't have enough time, that 'Bone Dragon' might already have begun standing up again." She said to all her members.

"I'll be counting now!" She shouted, and added "One, Two, Three!".

Dea's Shield went back to its original form and was immediately grabbed by Dea.

Grandell quickly jumps high and went into the trees like a monkey.

Rubia run towards the metallic shield of Dea and jumps on it and said "Give all your strength Dea in pushing your shield!".

Dea pushed her shield as strongly as possible while Rubia did the same on her right foot.

Now, Rubia can be seen heading to the 'Bone Dragon' as fast as a bullet and after almost reaching it, she held the hilt of her sword and pointed the sharp edge of the sword at the monster.

Both Rubia and the 'Bone Dragon' had met each other at an abrupt moment.

A huge and strong shockwave had been produced as a result of Rubia's and the 'Bone Dragon's collision.

Both had been thrown back by each other's impact.

Many trees had been devastated because of these powerhouses.

Rubia had been lying on the ground while soaked in her own blood caused by the thick defensive capabilities of the Dragon's bone.

Tom saw the gruesome condition of Rubia but he ignored it and quickly granted something to Rubia.

"Aid of the Goddess" is a sixth-tier holy healing magic that Tom had granted to their leader.

Rubia's body started shining miraculously and all her serious and minor wounds started to be restored until they completely disappeared.

While Yusoph was concentrating on casting his strongest offensive magic spell which requires a huge mana reserve and time to be able for him to cast it completely.

On the other hand, Grandell had finally reached his desired tree based on his expertise, wherein he can safely position himself while being able to spot the Bone Dragon.

He readied his bow and quickly selected a one-of-a-kind arrow on his quiver, an arrow that possesses piercing capabilities that even a sixth-tier "Mana Barrier" can be completely ignored.

After a quick moment, he finally loaded the arrow into his bow.

Grandell started to calm himself while aiming at the black core inside the rib cage of the Bone Dragon.

Rubia had been successfully healed and she started standing up from where she had been lying earlier.

She picked up her sword and quickly charges towards the 'Bone Dragon' whom also had succeeded standing up from the ground.

Rubia quickly reached where the Bone Dragon had been positioned and she unleashed her sword's "Original Form: Inferno".

Her Crimson sword started exuding a very terrifying aura that can almost melt all existing things.

The Bone Dragon felt the danger that came from Rubia's crimson sword and it immediately used its tail like a whip and approaches Rubia.

Rubia saw the whipped-like tail of the Bone Dragon and she smirks at it.

She directly clashed with the tail of the 'Bone Dragon' just to be surprised that it was not an ordinary bone of the Dragon race, especially for herself as a half-dragon.

Rubia was struggling in holding up with the strength of the Bone Dragon's tail and she was successfully thrown away farther than where Yusoph and Tom had been positioned.

Dea saw Rubia who had been thrown away caused by the tail of the 'Bone Dragon' and she thought that it was her turn in confronting the 'Bone Dragon'.

The 'Bone Dragon' looked at the person that had been standing in front of it and it whips its tail again.

Unfortunately, it did not succeed in what the 'Bone Dragon' had been expecting.

The little girl was still standing like an unmovable mountain.

Truthfully, Dea's hand became numb which was caused by the impact that the Bone Dragon's tail had produced on its collision with her sturdy shield.

Tom saw the only "Flaming Ember" left on the battlefield, it was him, Yusoph, and Dea.

He already knew that they are in a crisis situation due to an abnormal characteristics that the monster in front of them possessed.

He looked at Yusoph and he can hear him continuously casting his magic spell.

"heat that cleanses everything and light that devours the darkness, come forth on this surface and perish this violent entity", he felt that Yusoph had been done casting his offensive spell and he automatically called Dea to get out of the battlefield as fast as she could.

Tom moved both his hands while his palm faced Yusoph and he shouted loudly "Miraculous Gift".
