"What are you talking about?" Seth asked. He really didn't know what Leon was talking about. "You said that I should show my father that I'm not just some stupid punk. That I am able to accomplish anything that is thrown at me. My old man would think that I was preparing myself to follow his footsteps. But instead, I can tell him that I was just doing it to show him how smart I am and have no interest in taking over the business. That would be the perfect revenge on that bastard. Then I can do whatever I want to without listening to him anymore."
"That's not what I meant." Seth spoke out. He knew what he was talking about now, but that was not what he meant at all.
"So, meet me after school at the gates. We can go to my house." Leon spoke as he walked away. "Wait, Leon…" Seth yelled out. The teen just ignored him as he kept walking. He misunderstood what he was telling him from before. It was not for revenge. It was to show that he could do anything. Get good in with his father.
Wait, what did he say? Did he say study at his place? Seth was taken away at those words he fell towards the wall and covered his mouth. He would be with Leon at his house. No wait. His parents should be there. Seth thought to himself. He took in a deep breath and slowly let it out. Yeah. There is nothing to worry about. Seth tried to talk himself out of the anxiety that he was feeling. That's right. Everything will be okay. He repeated those words over and over inside his head. He did start to feel so much better than he was before. Seth pulled away from the wall and looked one more time down the direction that Leon had gone done. He started to head back towards the class again.
The sound of the bell rang and everyone got up from their desk. Many spoke to someone else about the day finally being over or what they wanted to do after they left school. Seth had finished putting away his books when he turned to look for Leon. He noticed that the teen had already left the room. Seth looked towards the flood of students leaving and realized that he was nowhere in the crowd. Did Leon leave him? Seth questioned himself. He stood from his spot looking around. He was nowhere in the classroom either. Maybe he was waiting in the hallway. Seth grabbed his bad and flung it over his shoulder.
Seth made his way out the room and didn't see him out there either. Seth could feel his heart sink. Was he the only one that was excited about being together, even if it was just to study? He was racking his brain wondering what he should say when he sees Leon's parents. How he would teach Leon the things that he doesn't understand. He felt his eyes watering. He wiped his eyes before the tears fell from his eyes. He was played that was all to it. He should've seen this coming.
Seth exited the building and was following a shallow crowed. Many students had already left. There were only a few people still there leaving the building. His head hung down. Tomorrow will be a new day. He will forget about all that happened today. Suddenly his shoulder was grabbed and was jerked backwards.
"How long do you expect me to call out to you, you asshole." Seth's eyes went wide when he saw who it was.
"Huh?"
"Don't huh me. I was calling you and you kept walking away. I thought we were going to study at my place?" Seth looked at Leon completely puzzled.
"I thought you already left." He spoke out. His voice cracked a bit.
"What the hell? You said that you would help me study. And I'd rather not leave class with you. Don't want to get those asshole teachers the gratitude thinking that you're actually helping me." Leon huffed the last part out. Seth couldn't help but giggle. Leon was just embarrassed to walk out of school with him. Seth felt his heart lighten when he understood what had happened. "We are going to my place to study right?" Leon question. Seth looked up at Leon. "Yeah. We are."
"Good." Leon spoke out as he shoved a helmet into Seth's hands. "Let's go." Confused, Seth walked with Leon and stopped in front of a motorcycle that was in the schools parking lot. He watched as Leon got onto the bike. Seth was a bit confused. Seth thought his father had Leon dropped off a school, or so that's what Mr. Donalds said to him.
"What's wrong?" Leon asked.
"I…I thought you were dropped you off at school." Leon looked at Seth with an eye brow raised.
"I don't know who told you that, but I ride, no one drops me off especially when it comes to school. I want a way to get out of here when I want." Seth nodded still confused but didn't ponder on it too long. Leon looked up at Seth. "Get on."
"But, I never rode on a bike before?" Seth said as he gripped the helmet.
"Don't worry. I have been driving bikes since I was little. I also have my license for this bike to, so it's not like I'm doing anything illegal."
"Just how old are you?" Seth questioned.
"Well, isn't that a rude question to ask." Leon spoke. Seth stayed quiet. Leon sighed. "I'm 18, so what of it."
"So you're only one year older than me." Leon smirked.
"Oh, if that is so, then you should listen to your elders." Leon patted the back seat of his bike. "Now sit and put on the helmet." Seth worried, stood there for a few more minutes before taking in a breath and letting it go. Seth grabbed the other strap of his bag and put his arm through to make sure he won't lose his bag. He swung is leg over the back of the bike. It was really hard to get on so Leon helped him by getting off and then allowing Seth on first. Leon got back on the bike and made sure that the helmet was safely on before he started the bike. "Now make sure that you hold on." Seth grabbed Leon by the shoulders. He couldn't see Leon laugh behind his own helmet. Leon grabbed both of Seth's hands with his and moved them to wrap around his waist. "Hold there." Leon said as he kicked the stand up and rolled backwards on his bike. "Are you ready?" Leon didn't receive any type of answer. The hands around his waist were already holding on tightly. He couldn't help but smirk at Seth's reactions. Leon revved up the bike and slowly started to move. Seth kept the death grip on Leon as they made their way out of the parking lot and headed towards Leon's house.
