Chapter 3 : New city ,

The whole Island of The great sage Daedalus is shaped like a donut. districts here are called curves for that reason.

The region with the most human population are the northern curve , while the most monster populations are situated on the southern Curve.

The emptiness on the middle of the donut is only filled by a small circular island connected to four colossal bridges situated on the four cardinal directions. under the bridges comes a network of tubes supplying the whole city with energy.

This little island is also the control room of the whole dadaelus' island.

Apo closed his book realizing that his stop is almost here.

The cabin of the train looked so cramped that apo had to bend his head and crouch just to fit in.

'I miss you already betsy'

'but the dwende said you will grow back for three more days.'

Abominations around him are looking at him on a hostile way because he's cramming the cabin.

but Apo just glared more fiercely at them.

Apo is on a bad mood lately because of what happened. currently he is wearing a buttoned uniform paired with a dark green pants. The most noticeable of part if his uniform is a crest on his uniform situated on his front pocket.

a skull wearing a crown being surrounded by 2 ferocious snakes.

'edgy but kinda cool'

This is the crest of Apo's new School, Betrayal and treachery Institute, BATI for short or BAT Institute.

The center of learning For monsters that lived on the south-western curve.

it housed different kinds of races from aquatic to aerial creatures study there.

'I can't wait , I heard the canteens there serves spicy icecream and exploding cookies'

Today is apo's first day of School. his mother and father were so proud at his son when apo passed the Exam. with the outstanding score of 87/100.

'oh that's my stop'

He got up from his crouched position and somehow madeway out.

'next time I should just go ride on roof of the cabin'

he stood up , almost reaching eight foot tall.

his bag looked like a small tent being carried around.

The train is a made with both magic and science combined , it's cabin is made of a particularly light meta called helium alloy , while the tracks are made of magnets.

the cabin didn't even touch the rails. it just floats.

'awesome'

'it's still early so I should take my leisure time on this new city. '

The bustling streets are full of vendors selling different kind if exotic street foods. cafés can be seen here and there but the most outstanding part to apo here is the Tall skyscrapers stretching six stories high.

Flying boats are also everywhere. made from the same helium alloy.

Apo looked up in awe,

"So this is a city"

Apo lived in the western curve , full of farm lands and ricefields . and this place is more diverse than he thought.

He seen one-horned creatures , flying abominations with a sliced lower body. vampires , demons , aliens , phantoms , mutants , elfs, other ogres ,

undead creatures , yokais , moving creatures made of stone , some humans and all kinds of other monsters living peacefully beside each other at the beautiful sky scrapers.

but despite his careful planning and research about this place he is still lost and can't find his school.

Apo walked and walked trying to find his school.

his hands slowly filled with skewered streetfoods and his mind calculating his allowance if he bought one more.

'wait I shouldn't get distracted'

Apo swallowed all the skewers and munched on it. as fast as he could.

'change of plans , time to go collect some information'

he tapped a furry humanoid creature that has his back turned to him.

"yes?"

"can I ask where is this"

apo showed him his map.

"sure buddy"

The beastlike creature thought him the direction and how to safely go there , apo also asked where is the churches, libraries , restaurants, any importation he can squeeze out if this man's mouth.

"i think thats enough talking buddy"

The creature looked exhausted from the sudden interrogation.

Apo nodded and put his small journal and pet on his pocket.

Apo gleefully shaked the man's hands

"Thanks sir"

The beastlike creature also thought him how to get a ride with an Aerial taxi.

Apo clicked a button on a pole and it gleamed the color blue.

A small boat rode towards apo as soon as the light showed.

"where are you going son,"

"To the bat institute sir"

"alright hop in"

The flying small boat took of , gust of wind whisled on his ear , his stomach felt funny. he got the fuzzy thing you felt when riding an elevator

thankfully Apos breakfast didn't rise up, his stomach is pretty tough too,

Apo gazed at the window of the boat like vehicle , he acted like a tourist who can be easily scammed asking the driver what's this and that.

Apo saw the dark side of the city too, well monsters live here afterall it's actually pretty normal.

the places the beastlike creature told him to avoid are

just under apo. he saw it all.

violent gangs, extortions , theft , drugs and violence .

Only the strongest , the most vicious ,the most cunning thrive here.

'feels just like home'

"were getting pretty close son , check your things and goodluck and prepare yourself"

"prepare for what?"

"nothing nothing"

The driver took off.

huh that's weird. apo felt like the driver is hiding something. is there a problem at his new school?

He dropped apo infront of a Big red gate with brick walls with barb wires on the top.

"there's definitely a problem with this school"

it has an imposing aura that seems to be driving people away. it felt like a prison more than a center of learning.

'Time to go I guess?'
