Chapter 58

There was standing room only in the crowded car, so William was unable to continue his commentary. When we emerged at the Haymarket Station, he picked up the thread of his discourse, pointing out places of interest along with some background information on each. We walked past the Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, and when we turned up North Street in the direction of Paul Revere’s house, I suddenly realized with a terrible certainty where we were headed. Paul Revere’s house started William off on a new thread, and as we rounded a small bend in the street, he looked straight ahead and confirmed my suspicions (fears), saying, “That’s where we’re going.” He pointed at Mamma Leone’s Restaurant, which is located at the head of what is known as North Square.

He continued talking about the restaurant and its food until we reached the steps leading up to its entrance. I paid no attention to what he was saying after that, as I was suddenly overwhelmed with a flood of memories.
