I was in the white room. It would not be an exaggeration to say that I was surprised this worked. I smiled at Arisu who was flabbergasted at the situation she was in, she said in a small voice, "Thank... You…"
I was also happy at this point, "Of course, we are a team." Arisu flinched as I lightly patted her shoulders. I continued while pointing to the table with two computers, "Those laptops have our stats and you can look at your abilities with that spreadsheet program."
We moved to one of the laptops, it had Arisu's attributes on it. It had her name, level 1, and she had 3 skill points. It looks like my guess was correct.
However, Arisu was looking at something else and asked, "I am your Harem Headgirl?"
Confused, I looked at her title, "Uhm, what? You can ignore that, uhm, that is… That is just the title that gives you additional bonuses. Look at your skill points. Most people who are level 1 only have 2 skill points, but you have 3. Also look at your Mana regeneration rate. Most people at level 1 have 6 mana per hour while you have 9."
Arisu seemed to have calmed down, looking up expectantly, she asks, "Ohh, I know exactly what to get then. She quickly selected Physical, Spear, and Healing magic then rapidly clicked finished."
I tried to yell, "Wait!", but we were already gone from the white room. It seemed, because I did not have any skill points my laptop was already in the FINISHED mode probably. I was in my own world thinking about if hunting 3 orcs at the same time was safe when I realized Arisu was trying to heal me. It seemed she noticed the few scratches on my hands and face. My hand that was hurting due to the abrasions and wounds, was wrapped in bluish white light. She should be looking to heal herself first, the silly girl. The pain gradually disappear, and in an instant, even the scars are gone. Only a red trace was seen at the wound, like a proof that it was injured before.
How enviable magic is, "I see, that is really convenient."
Arisu replied with a simple, "Yes." Arisu then laughed and began to heal her own wounds. It was obvious that her wounds are more serious, but she insisted on using the healing magic on me first.
Arisu started saying, "There is really a white room."
I roll my eyes, "So you actually suspected me. Plus we could have talked more in the white room, the time is frozen there but you clicked finish too quickly."
Arisu blushed in panic, trying to explain, "No, no, I uhm, I wanted to try magic out as soon as possible. Can you believe it?!? Magic being real?"
I laughed hollowly with a bitter smile, "Ah yes, I forgot, I am sorry for pushing the blame."
She smiled warmly at me, "That's better, as your harem headgirl you need to believe in me!"
I was stunned, stupefied actually, what did this girl just say? So I replied, "Right, right, so as comrades in arms, you can just call me Kazuhisa or Kazu."
She continued, "Yes, Kazuhisa-san, uhm, Kazu-san, that is… I will kill all the monsters and Kazu will protect me from behind! We will be comrades in each other's arms!"
I had to wonder, did I say comrade in arms or comrades in each other's arms? A shy smile appeared on Arisu's face as she looked up towards me. She bashfully said, "Please call me Arisu since everyone does that. Also I am your Kouhai (underclassman), so just call my name directly."
I simply replied, "I understand, Arisu."
"Yes!" Arisu happily smiled a reply.
Looking at her expression, I am also infected with her happiness and smiled.
I asked, "Do you know how to use the spear now?" "Yes."
The weapon in her hand, is the bamboo spear I made. With firmness in her voice, she said, "I am no longer powerless." She was playing with the spear, moving it around with ease.
It was at this moment that I noticed a ring on Arisu's left ring finger. I then looked at my own. I was stunned at what I saw. It seemed that, because me and Arisu was in the same party we are now married to each other. While I was staring at my ring, Arisu most likely taking notice at my behavior, noticed the markings on both of our fingers.
Arisu under her breath, "Matching rings." She had a shy smile on her face, like an innocent flower. I looked up hearing her mutterings, making me swallow my saliva. I do not know if she saw my nervousness. I observed Arisu who is full of smiles, and it seems that she is just purely happy. Ah, forget it. Anyway, I found my companion. This is considered as taking a big step. I am normally not able to talk to others in general. I need to get us back into the fight and grind! We can day dream in the white room!
"Arisu! We need to fight, next time we are in the white room we can relax and day dream!" I then started to walk in a direction, mumbling, "Let's check out the current situation after this quick fight."
I had the raven lead us to a nearby pair of orcs. With three golems, me, and Arisu; this should be easy. Arisu followed me panickily. It was surprising, watching the ease that Arisu took out one of the orcs with two golems helping her (one of the golems being the older weaker one). I also managed to take out my orc, but it seemed that while it was easy for Arisu, it took a moderate amount of time for me to land the finishing kill on the orc.
There should be a cliff up ahead, we will be able to see the general situation now.
Our school —— Kitayama Private School, is situated in a mountain known as Kitayama by the natives. More accurately saying, it should be that the entire mountain is the property of the school. From the nearest bus stop through the fields until the foot of the mountain via car will take you at least 30 minutes or 5 hours by foot. From the foot of the mountain to the school building, the journey via car will also take 30 minutes, and the road condition is very bad, which is ill-suited for walking. The building for the Middle School is at the South-west side of the mountain, while the building for High School is at the South-east side. There are 2 roads connecting the 2 school buildings. Just now the road near where we hunted the two orcs, is the further one, and we called it "South Road". If we take the north side road that connects the 2 school buildings, it will only take 10 minutes. But according to Arisu, after the earthquake, that road is covered by the landslide, and no longer functional. From the start she also use that road to escape, but after discovering that there is no way out, she is forced to escape to here.
Anyway, our current position, is at the longer route that connects the 2 school building, and also slightly south at the middle of the South Road. We are currently heading south from here, so that when we reached the cliff and look down, we should be able to see the bus stop and the nearby streets of the city.
We, who have reached the cliff, could really see the scenery from faraway. But yet we could only stare at the vast grassland in front of us. That's right, it's a grassland. At the horizon are majestic mountains, but directly in front of us is a big patch of grassland. Not to mention the city, even a building or a field cannot be seen. Of course there is no human in sight. The birds flew above us. But looking at them clearly, we discovered that they are different from the species that we know of. The birds that we knew, are not that big. Don't even mention about the existing birds, even the dinosaurs are not that big. That huge bird landed on the grassland. There is an elephant on the grassland. But the huge bird is bigger than that elephant, it used its sharp claws and lightly grabbed on the elephant, before spreading its wings to fly… Then, it disappeared over the other side of the horizon like this.
Arisu, not able to keep her cool asked, "That… I want to ask a very stupid question now!"
I had to agree. I wanted to ask many, "I want to know where the bus stop is."
She replied, "Well that is true…" While she scratched the back of her head in embarrassment.
I wanted to tell her she could laugh, but I do not wish to let her know that I am a nerd. I am different from the original Kazu, and I don't know if all the heroines will still like me. I started to mumble incoherently, but stopped myself. I couldn't help feel that I was an idiot. I have the inherited memories of him, and I feel he would feel the same.
I have already expected such a situation, I knew that the world was different, after all, I am from a different world and am now in the world of anime.
I was happy, "Arisu, let's level up together, and then we can find out the truth."
"Yes, Kazu-senpai… Let's level up together!"
I had the raven bring me to the next pair of orcs. Now that she has the spear rank 1 ability, she is like a soldier who is well-trained, standing firmly and stabbing with the spear, toying around with the orcs.
Previously, she couldn't stand firmly, when she stabs, there would be a lack of strength and not hit accurately. In short, it was bad. However, now, she can match an orc. I summoned a fourth golem, two golems holding back one orc while Arisu and two golems take an orc out one at a time. I stayed back to watch the surroundings and make sure to assist if needed.
As the second orc dissipated into smoke, this time I heard a trumpet sounding off in my mind, but with no androgynous neutral voice saying, "You leveled up!". It seemed as Arisu was in my party from the beginning this time I heard the trumpet. Arisu should have heard the same trumpet and the androgynous neutral voice. My vision blurred white, just like always.
