Emerging

Li Rong felt the burden of his recent struggles disappear from his shoulders as he emerged from the dark cave. As soon as he ventured outside, the sun welcomed him with open arms, bathing the surrounding landscape in a bright radiance.

The lake shimmered far away, its glistening waters calling to him like the song of a siren. Li Rong's strides carried him towards the tranquil oasis, a sanctuary of peace after the unforgiving landscape of the cave. The gentle caress of the soft grass under his feet provided a welcome respite from the jagged stones and rocky crevices that had been a constant in his journey thus far.

Drawing closer to the water's edge, he swiftly removed his tattered clothes, eager to immerse himself in the cool depths of the lake. The crystal clear water enveloped Li Rong in its refreshing embrace, gently caressing his skin and alleviating the physical and mental exhaustion he had accumulated during the trials.

With each passing moment, the soothing liquid washed away the sweat and grime from his body, leaving him feeling rejuvenated and invigorated. As he submerged himself completely, a sense of tranquility descended upon him, lulling his mind into a state of calmness.

The coolness of the water seeped into his tired muscles, easing any tension that had built up. In this moment of pure bliss, all worries and stress melted away, replaced by a sense of contentment and peace. A contented sigh escaped his lips as he emerged from the water, feeling truly alive and refreshed.

After indulging in a much-needed rest, Li Rong prepared to exit the small world within the bronze disc. Employing a method similar to his initial entry, he utilized his own blood as a catalyst to activate the portal serving as the gateway between the two realms.

With utmost concentration and by harnessing his spiritual energy, he triggered a swirling vortex of energy that bridged the gap between the two worlds. Taking a confident step forward, Li Rong crossed through the shimmering veil of light and emerged once again into the familiar surroundings of the external world beyond the bronze disc.

He was surprised to find the room exactly as he had left it, with his possessions undisturbed and his partially consumed lunch still sitting on the table. Even though it seemed like no time had passed at all, Li Rong was aware that he had been within the small world for what felt like weeks.

Li Rong left his room and went in search of Lin Feng, feeling alone and secluded in the small world and yearned for human contact. He was welcomed by the inn's busy hallways, which were alive with the sound of chatter and the aroma of far-off spices from the surrounding restaurants.

During their time together, Li Rong had formed a strong bond with Lin Feng, developing a sense of camaraderie that he cherished. As he made his way towards the bustling common area of the inn, Li Rong's spirits were lifted at the thought of finding Lin Feng. The anticipation of animated conversations and shared laughter dispelled the lingering weight of loneliness that had enveloped him.

Amidst the lively crowd, Lin Feng's distinctive figure immediately caught Li Rong's eye, providing a sense of relief to the latter. With eagerness and anticipation, Li Rong closed in on his friend, anticipating the warmth and comfort that only their companionship could provide.

"Lin Feng," Li Rong called out, his voice carrying across the room as he closed the distance between them. "It's good to see you again."

Lin Feng turned at the sound of Li Rong's voice, a smile tugging at the corners of his lips despite the stern expression he had worn moments before. "Li Rong," he replied, his tone warm with genuine affection. "I was hoping you'd join me this morning."

Together, they found a quiet corner where they could converse without interruption, their chairs drawn close as they settled in for a leisurely breakfast, subtle tension hung in the air, noticeable to Li Rong's keen senses.

He observed Lin Feng's demeanor, noting the slight withdrawal in his friend's usual lively manner. Sensing something amiss, Li Rong decided to broach the subject, eager to dispel any unease that lingered between them.

"Is everything alright, Lin Feng?" Li Rong inquired, his voice laced with genuine concern as he regarded his friend across the table. "You seem a bit... distant today."

Lin Feng hesitated for a moment, his gaze flickering with indecision before he finally spoke. "It's nothing, really," he replied, attempting to mask his unease with a forced smile. "Just some matters weighing on my mind."

Li Rong observed Lin Feng's facial expression, perceiving that his friend's reserve wasn't entirely genuine. "You know you can talk to me about anything, right?" With a soothing and kind tone, Li Rong extended his offer. "We're friends, after all."

Li Rong's words caused Lin Feng's smile to falter, a flash of pain flashing in his eyes, gone as soon as it came.
