Chapter 13

Historia was walking back to her cabin from the mess hall with Ymir. She was very tired after the long day of training and if she were to be honest with herself, there were times when she felt like quitting, but she persevered through it and continued. With her time here, she could honestly say she quite enjoyed it. The people she interacted with were pretty nice to her, but she wondered if it was only because of her fake shy and kind personality.

Would they still like her if she dropped her Krista persona? That was another thing she questions herself about. What would they say if they found out that the Krista they knew was all just a fake? It's not even her real name.

When she was younger, she used to live on a farm. Compared to here, it was way better as back then she was regarded as a burden even when she had no idea why. Back then she had no friends, but here the others were nice to her. Especially the girl she's walking with right now.

As Historia and Ymir were walking, they heard extra footsteps in front of them. The two came face to face with the strongest Cadet Eren Yeager.

Eren stopped in front of Historia and Ymir to greet them.

"It's nice to meet you, my name is Eren Yeager" he said with a smile. Seeing him put his hand out, Historia shook it with a smile of her own.

"I'm Krista Lenz and the girl next to me is Ymir. Not to be rude, but do you need something?" Historia questioned. Ymir looked at Eren as well, waiting for his answer. They never really interacted with him so they were wondering why he would actually try to talk to them.

Hearing her question, Eren chucked and said "no no, I don't need anything. I just thought I would introduce myself because I've never really talked to the both of you before. I wanted to actually interact with my fellow cadets more."

Historia and Ymir nodded their heads, understanding his reason.

Like this, Eren had a light conversation with the two girls. It was pretty short as he didn't have anything interesting to talk to them about and he also noticed how tired Historia was, so he said his goodbyes and left.

Seeing him walk away, Historia began to talk to Ymir.

"He seemed like a nice person" Historia said to her as they walked to their cabin.

"I guess, didn't expect him to be..." Ymir responded back. In her honest opinion, she thought he'd be someone cocky who thought highly of himself for being strong.

There were already guys like that during the early days of training that tried to flirt with her friend Historia.

"Wonder what he was doing coming from the girls cabin. You think he's some kind of pervert?" Ymir said questioned.

Historia was a bit startled at her question. To her, Eren didn't look like the type of person who would be one. Plus he had a girlfriend.

"Stop that Ymir, you know he has a girlfriend. He probably walked her back to the cabin." Historia said

Ymir nodded and began to ponder. She knew of his girlfriend Mikasa, but never talked to her before. She is usually around Armin, Annie and Eren. The second strongest behind her lover in strength. She wondered how they were that strong and it was obvious they trained together.

Ymir broke out of her thoughts when Historia began to talk to her about something else.

With Eren, he sensed 3 people in the forest and decided to check it out. Once he got close, he instantly recognized them as Reiner, Bertholdt and Annie. He was only able to hear whispers because he didn't want to get so close, so he channeled his energy to his ear.

Now being able to perfectly hear them, Eren hid behind a thick tree and listened to what they were discussing about.

In the middle of a forest, three people could be seen sitting down on the grass, discussing something. These three were Reiner, Bertholdt and Annie.

They decided to meet up and plan their next course of action because they haven't been able to get any useful information or clues on where the Coordinate could be, except one.

They knew that within the walls, there was a King and the only way to have a chance on getting close to him was joining the Military Police.

"So is it decided that we all go for the top 10 and join the military police to spy on the king?" Reiner asked, looking at the other two.

Bertholdt agreed, but Annie didn't. When she heard what Reiner said, she immediately refused and said "No, I think only one of us should go to the Military Police and the other two go with the survey corps."

Annie thought it was a bad idea for all three of them to join the military police. If she were to be honest with herself, she didn't think Reiner and Bertholdt would be good at spying. Seeing the confused looks on the two, Annie began to explain her reason.

"First of all, I don't think you two would be good at spying. If something goes wrong and we're caught, we'd have to flee back. We're also not sure if the coordinate is even with the King. The two of you should join the Survey Corps, but you'd have to be careful as we still don't know the extent of their abilities. Some of the soldiers could be very strong" Annie said, thinking of Mikasa and Eren.

"Annie, what do you mean? Against our titans, they can't even be considered as a threat." Bertholdt said. He was genuinely confused on why Annie thought any of them could pose a threat.

"I didn't say they would be a match for our titans, but we still don't know the extent of their abilities. Just look at Eren and Mikasa, the two strongest ones here. I've been training all my life with my father and Mikasa is already at my level. Eren already surpasses me being able to easily beat me now in spars. Without my titan powers, even I know he could kill me in a real fight. They are around our age being this strong and they'll only get stronger in future. We also still don't know if there's anybody with the amount of skill they show that's within the walls, except for the so called strongest soldier".

Hearing what Annie said, Reiner and Bertholdt were slightly shocked. Yes, they knew that Eren and Mikasa were strong, but not to the extent where they could take on Annie. They knew how skilled Annie was. She could easily kick both of their asses.

They didn't know that Annie has been training with the couple, so it was only natural that they'd be slightly shocked. And Eren being able to kill her if he wanted, if she didn't use her powers was even a little concerning.

They began to think on her words. She was right about not even being sure that the coordinate was with the king.

"Wait... Annie how do you know he's able to easily kill you? You said you spare together with the two of them. I thought you just talk to them, not train with them. You're getting oddly close to the duo. I hope you're not forgetting what they are." Reiner said as he looked at her.

Annie scoffed and said "You have no right to even say that when you yourself socialize with them like their your best friends. Are you sure you're not getting attached with them Reiner?"

Reiner stayed silent for a moment, then said. "It's just because I don't want to seem suspicious. They're still devils and in the end, we'd have to kill them if they get in our way."

Annie didn't truly believe his words, so she just got up and said "I think we're done here, it's getting late"

The trio of Titan sifters left to their cabins, not realizing that their whole conversation was heard by another person.
