Chapter 33

1st March 1021

As the sun rose above the horizon, a young man woke up. After a quick breakfast with his parents and all their pokemon, he got ready for his first day as an official pokemon trainer. After getting ready he stood in front of a mirror, observing himself. Daniel was a 10 year old boy who was tall for someone his age. He had somewhat messy black hair that were combed to give them a semblance of uniformity, black eyes and a uniform face. He wore a simple shirt along with a thin hoodie open from the front, a full length pant and sport shoes. Standing in front of the mirror, he tried out a new trick he recently discovered.

"No change, huh."

He could see his own stats, which proved to be useless for the most part. He could also use his ability on other humans, which he didn't know if it was something he could always do but somehow never tried or this was an ability he recently gained. From his limited understanding, his ability treated people's names similar to pokemon nicknames which meant that they didn't show up.

At least it somehow detected people's stage which meant he always new whom to not piss off. As for mastery, he had never seen anyone have anything other than 'none' so far.

He went back to his parents who saw him off to his journey. He called all his pokemon to their pokeballs and went to the bus stop where he showed his ticket that was already paid for by his parents. After today, he was on his own. He was given 10,000 PKD (pokedollars) to start his new life.

His bus reached Fuchsia city in less than a day, a fast transport considering the distance. He called the gym to book a gym battle for the next day.

The Fuchsia city gym leader, Koga was a poison type specialist. For the 3rd or 4th badges for the junior league, his three pokemon were zubat, venonat and an advance rank muk. With three of his pokemon at the peak of rookie rank and two at advance rank, he did not fear Koga. Dartrix might have a hard time in this gym but he would send him against venonat for a balanced matchup. Koga didn't require much planning. His strategy basically revolved around poisoning his opponents.

He planned to open the match with charcadet. Although pawmi would have an advantage against zubat, charcadet could attack it easily with ranged attacks, his fire attacks were super effective against venonat and his will-o-wisp could essentially cripple muk.

He checked the stats for his new pokemon he received form the trade.

Mastery: Normal 40%, Fighting 4%, Bug 2%, Steel 2%, Ghost 1%, Dark 8%, Fairy 6%

The teddiursa, another male pokemon, wasn't trained for long. The trainer that had caught it was a fire specialist who was looking to add diversity to his team.

Vikavolt was a great addition as an electric pokemon that could deal with water types without adding another weakness to ground types to his team. As for the rock weakness, he already had two fire/fighting types that were weak to flying and psychic type pokemon which vikavolt could deal with.

As for the teddiursa, he was caught in a forest populated with ursarings. The wide move set was quite normal for the species. Daniel did not make teddiursa train a lot as it was better for a bond to form first. He did establish his tera type. Teddiursa was yet another mono type pokemon. Normal type was a reliable type with only one weakness.

Daniel went to sleep and was ready to get his 4th badge tomorrow.
