World 3.21

"Are you enjoying it?" 

Taehyun bent down and reached the ice cream on the cone to Tae Jun, who's beside him. The other male happily took it and tasted it. "Hmm!" he licked the top of the ice cream. "It's sweet," 

Taehyun pushed the wheelchair near the bench and let them take a rest. He put the fish in the jar next to him and smiled at his twin brother. He gazed into the dandelion sky with the sun in the middle of the light. The afternoon air touched their skin, warning them that the night will come. 

The silent atmosphere when Tae Jun sneezed. 

"Are you okay?" Taehyun grabbed a wipes from his bag and handed it to the male in the wheelchair. "Be careful, you bet--" he paused when he saw the spilled ice cream on the coat covering Tae Jun. "Pfttt!!" He couldn't help but laugh. 

Seeing his expression, Tae Jun pouted. "Stop laughing at me, the ice cream fell on its own when I sneezed," he snorted. 

The other male bent down and wiped the spilled sweets on the coat. "Why didn't you tell me?" after wiping the cream, he snorted back. He turned his head back to the afternoon sky and said, "The sky is so pretty, don't you like it?" he mumbled. 

The other male glanced at him after gulping the last piece of his ice cream. Tae Jun curved his lips into a bright smile and said, "We both love sunsets," then he looked at Taehyun, "Isn't it the second time?" he asked.

The orange sky reflected on Taehyun's eyes, that his pupils dilated in warmth. "Watching the sunset with you is more beautiful," he stated.

Those words reached Tae Jun's heart. He unconsciously tapped his chest in silence. If only he could say those things, too. If only he can do that every day. If only he can accompany Taehyun every afternoon while watching the sunsets. Somehow, just by thinking of the things he couldn't do anymore made him more sick. 

"Taehyun, If I died, bury me near the horizon, so that even if I'm not with you anymore, I can still enjoy the sunset," 

It stunned the other male. He didn't know how to react. He kept quiet for the meantime and clenched his jaw secretly. He met Tae Jun's eyes and made a bitter smile. "Yeah, I will do that," every word almost ripped his heart. 

"Thank you,"

Taehyun looked at him again. "Thank you for what?"

The rays of the sun kissed Tae Jun's face, reflecting his pupils in sadness. "Thank you…" he paused. "Thank you for everything," he giggled. "I still can't believe that I'm here in the amusement park acting like a kid while playing with you. I thought you didn't like me anymore"

Taehyun hesitated to take his eyes away from the figure next to him. "Did I hurt you so much in the past? Did I hate you so much?"

Tae Jun lowered his head and fidgeted with his fingers, "Yes, you hated me so much that you want me dead…" his tone was heavy yet gentle. As he continued to play with his fingers, he said, "I don't want you to feel that way to me again. I couldn't protect you because I'm weak.." 

"D-Don't say t-that," Taehyun stopped him. He pulled the wheelchair and placed it in front of him. He bent down and watched his twin brother's face. "I'm so dumb. How could I ever say that to this face?" he caressed Tae Jun's cheeks and pinched it lightly. "I'm sorry," he mumbled. 

"He he..such a crybaby," Tae Jun chuckled and leaned his cheeks on Taehyun's palm as he closed his eyes. "I didn't even regret having you as my twin brother...Even if I got reincarnated again in this world, I will still choose you as my brother," he said those words with warmth and sincerity.

"Tae Jun!!" 

Taehyun pushed him into his embrace and hugged him tight. He feels like if he let go, he will never hug him again like this. "Tae Jun, I'm sorry!" His heavy chest released all the sobs he's been holding back. Tears welled up in his eyes and gently caressed his cheeks. "I can't do it! It's so hard," he leaned his head on Tae Jun's shoulders. "Don't die, pleasee...I still want to do a lot of things with you!" his hoarse voice tickled the male's ears. 

Tae Jun gulped the saliva trapped in his throat. He lifted his hand and brushed Taehyun on the back. "W-Why are you crying so s-suddenly?" he's stammering already because of the heavy feeling he's also hiding. The male wanted to be strong for Taehyun. He didn't want him to see his weak side. He'd gone enough already. This is not the right time to cry. Even if he still wanted to spend a lot of time watching his twin brother reaching all the happiness he once dreamed. 

"Can you just stay?" Taehyun cried again, sniffing beside his ears. "Why are you leaving so soon? I still want to travel the world with you." he paused. Feeling all the suffering from his father is nothing to him. He just wanted to step out of this darkness for a very long time.

He needed Tae Jun to guide him. He felt like he would shatter to pieces again when they parted. "Tae Jun, Tell me what to do for you to stay,"

Tae Jun let go from their hug and wiped the tears rolling down on Taehyun's cheeks. "Can you promise me two things?"

Taehyun nodded.

"First, I want you to continue living in the light. I don't want to see you suffering in the darkness anymore.." Tae Jun pinched his twin brother's nose. "Second, please take care of Soheun for me, okay?" he used his gentle hands to pull Taehyun towards as he made a peck on his forehead. "I love you both, don't make me sad in heaven," he whispered.
