Isolated In Darkness

'What... how am I not dead?' After being unconscious for about an entire day now, Ye Fan slowly opened his eyes and thought to himself.

After everything that has happened to him so far in the past day or so, Ye Fan was certain that he would've been long gone by now.

But since he was still alive somehow, he knew that he had to take this opportunity to quickly escape and build up his power in secrecy before the masked figure finds out that he's still alive and hunts him down again.

When he tried to move forward though, there was something behind him that had pulled him back to the wall.

So Ye Fan turned his head around and saw that both of his hands and legs were currently chained up to the wall.

Fearing that the masked figure was the one who had chained him up to the wall, Ye Fan tried his best to yank and rip the chains off of him, but failed to do so since these weren't any ordinary chains.

This made Ye Fan more certain that the masked figure was the one who had chained him up to the wall.

So he tried to scan around the area he was currently in and see if he could use anything to his advantage to help him break free from these chains.

However, the area or room he was in was too dark that he couldn't see anything at all despite having a much better vision than a normal person.

Although the situation seemed completely hopeless for Ye Fan, he was confident that he would still somehow make it out alive.

It's not like it was his first time being in a scenario where everything seemed hopeless after all.

Just as Ye Fan was calming himself down however, he heard footsteps above him slowly decending down the stairs and getting closer to him.

Ye Fan, who still thought that it was the masked figure approaching him, couldn't help but start to get anxious.

The masked figure has given him such a hard time ever since he had arrived back to China that he had subconciously already started to develop some fear towards the masked figure.

Just because he was quite afraid of the masked figure though doesn't mean that he was just going to allow the masked figure to get away with it.

In fact, his enmity with the masked figure has gone too far to the point where it made him even more motivated to get even stronger just so he can someday take his revenge on the masked figure and everyone else that had humiliated him during his visit to China.

It might feel like he was still talking big right now when literally nothing had gone right for him so far, but he believed that all of that was definitely going to change soon.

He already has the head of the Gu family on his side after all.

Speaking of the Gu family, while he had been talking to Gu Shunzhang during the car ride a few days prior back, Gu Shunzhang had briefly mentioned to him that he had an extremely smart and beautiful daughter that'll eventually become the new head of the Gu family after he gets old.

And after hearing what Gu Shunzhang had said, Ye Fan had a strong feeling that if he manages to get Gu Shunzhang's daughter, Gu Yuan, to become his woman, then she'll most likely be able to help him solve most of his current problems he had in China.

But of course, Ye Fan had learned his lesson about not trusting his gut instincts so easily now especially when it comes to any beautiful woman in China.

So after inquiring more about Gu Yuan and learning that she relatively had no connections to Ronald whatsoever, and even had a huge sense of digust towards brainless rich second generations like Ronald, Ye Fan knew with utmost certainty that he would be able to manage to get along with Gu Yuan well.

'Sooner or later, all of the beautiful woman and the entirety of China will be completely in my hands!'

While Ye Fan was daydreaming about ruling the world someday however, the lights had suddenly flickered on, and he couldn't help but widen his eyes up in shock after seeing who had appeared in front of him.

Rather than the masked figure who he thought would appear in front of him, the person who had actually appeared before him was none other than...

'Luna...'

Ye Fan really wanted to call out her name and ask what was going on, but since the masked figure had directly stabbed his throat prior to now, his vocal box was completely damaged, therefore he couldn't even mutter out any words.

"Ye Fan." Luna stared at Ye Fan with bloodshot eyes and didn't even try to surpress her killing intent towards him.

Just even looking at Ye Fan now made Luna feel so absolutely disgusted and angry that she wasn't so sure if she could even control herself from just murdering Ye Fan right now.

But her intentions of kidnapping Ye Fan wasn't to murder him, at least not yet.

She just wanted to torture the hell out of Ye Fan and make him go through the pain he had inflicted on Ronald in his previous life.

Of course, her original visit to the captial city was to find out where Ronald was, and she had initally thought that Ye Fan was the one who had done something bad to him originally, but after seeing Ye Fan in such a miserable state, she knew that Ye Fan definitely wouldn't know where he was.

After all, how could Ye Fan even do something terrible to Ronald if he was such in a pathetic state to begin with?

So with all of that in mind, after she threw a pill that's meant to cause immeasurable pain without killing someone into Ye Fan's mouth, and then quickly left before she could hear Ye Fan could scream his lungs out and went out to go find Ronald again.
