Chapter 13 : Pain of Death

“Then I will kill you,” Varon snarled.
He had no right to be speaking to me like this. And more than that, I had well and truly thought that we had moved on from this. I was starting to feel like we were reaching an agreement, and working toward a common goal.
I was wrong.
“Fine,” I hissed at him. “Kill me for something the Moon declared. And see what happens to your rule then!”
Just as I spoke, a light pushed through me, a light that looked exactly like the one from the Moon. But this time, it didn’t look exactly the same. It looked like it was leaving me.
The light came out slowly, and then exploded all at once, hitting Varon directly in the chest. He flew back into the door from the force of the blow, and then it was gone. He lifted himself to his feet quickly, staring at me.
