Terrifying Shadow

The secretary knew that he definitely couldn't tell Sir The Obsidian Lord that the rescue team would take thirteen minutes to arrive. It was better to round down the numbers and make him at ease.

"Good job!" The Obsidian Lord nodded his head.

"Tell those in the intelligence department that they got lucky today and heads didn't roll but for this reason, they have a month off to themselves"

"Noted sir!" The secretary replied respectfully

"And….. give them allowances for a month long vacation I'm not that unreasonable" The Obsidian Lord added after some thought.

"Yes sir" The secretary nodded and left to complete his work.

Meanwhile, The Obsidian Lord stood for a moment and stared into space thnking of something else but no one could ascertain his thoughts.

Back at Alabod's garage

Ellen stood up in pain as she shook off distracting thoughts from her head. There was no way that guy could do all of what happened last night. How could someone be so accurate, so precise, so meticulous that everything practically went in his favour.

No! It could either be his Jesus of a backer or just luck. And if it was the latter, then that guy must be seriously lucky for him to trash her operation up so much that she nearly died.

Exactly 13 minutes later, a black van pulled up to the coordinates that Ellen gave and horned 5 times in different intervals. Immediately after, Ellen showed up staggeringly and boarded the vehicle.

Immediately she entered the back of the vehicle, a team of medics started attending to her injuries.

"Arrgh!" She groaned in pain as pieces of shrapnel were carefully removed one after the other.

The process was fast but it seemed so slow to her. This was the first time she had been badly wounded. As she thought of this, her face scrunched up in a hideous manner as she thought of that guy's image again. It was all his fault!

She wouldn't have been in this situation if not for him. What was his name again? Redeemed Shadow! That was his name. He wore his real face but his truth actually felt like lies. How could someone be so talented? Everything he told them was the truth but it sounded so absurd that for one moment she couldn't believe it.

As she was reminiscing, flashbacks were occuring in the deepest part of her memories. A 'Ping' could be heard one time and a 'chime' at other times.

{Flashback} Before the accident....

"Your car's defenses are flimsy before the creations of Elohim" Redeemed Shadow confidently declared.

"If that is so, then show us these creations" Ellen had retorted.

"Look around you" Redeemed Shadow had turned around with both of his arms spread wide.

This gesture had caused the hearts of many to beat erratically. In all their years of training, this was the best opportunity to attack but they couldn't.

This looked like he (Redeemed Shadow) was actually unprotected and they could attack but reason told them that they couldn't. Another reason was because something like that had happened before.

One of their best snipers had tried to disable Redeemed Shadow when he looked very defenseless but immediately he touched the trigger, he was flung back by the recoil he was so much used to. This recoil in turn made the direction of the bullet deviate a bit from it's intended flight path.

So when Redeemed Shadow spread his hands wide to gesture, nobody dared attack recklessly even if it looked so tempting. Big Blade had suffered from this once, when instead of removing the knife from it's sheath, he had cut the sheath with his knife and in turn cut himself.

These situations were very weird and should be taken with caution.

"All around you are the glories of the Lord! His creations and masterpieces!" Redeemed Shadow had declared.

"Hmph!" Ellen had scoffed. "All of these created by Elohim?

"What a big trash talker you are!"

"I don't have the time for this, where is the drive you stole from me?"

"Underworld's Traceless, the Lord calls you and he wants to use you" Redeemed Shadow smiled as he stretched out his hand invitingly.

"F*ck your Lord Christian!, I don't need to be anyone's servant just like you are!"

"Grovelling and bowing to some guy isn't my thing" Ellen had spat in anger.

"Little Traceless, you're too young to spew forth such profanities against the Lord. You'll surely regret this later, I was just like this" Redeemed Shadow shook his head.

"You seriously would" He added with a mocking smile.

"It's none of your business how I feel later on" Ellen had snapped.

"Now where is the damn drive!?"

She shouted as she started losing her patience.

"Fine, none of my business but don't come looking for me later on"

"I have no interest baby sitting a baby in the word" Redeemed Shadow had smiled as he jumped out of the window.

This made everyone open their eyes in shock before almost smacking themselves. How could they have forgotten? Redeemed Shadow usually does the impossible so he was definitely not concerned about the measly height of some twenty seven storied skyscraper.

"Sh*t!" Ellen had exclaimed and jumped down the window with a grappling hook. The long distance to the ground didn't scare her at all because with her experience, when you lose sight of christian, you just might never find him again. Except he shows up.

"Pursue him!" Orders were also given as everyone else used grappling hooks.

As Ellen jumped down, she braced herself for something strange to happen and as usual, sometthing strange happened but this was out of her expectations.

Redeemed Shadow was nowhere to be found!

This was another impossibility, how could he just disappear?

For the rest of the height down, there definitely wasn't a shadow of a man in white suit. Such suit was the most conspicuous clothing at this time of the night.

As Ellen started backtracking and analysing, she started eliminating those useless thoughts and ideas and focused on others.

That's when she realised that they had neglected something important!
