| 1st floor - Headon's floor |

Right at this moment, the boy, known as Nagito Komaeda. Was standing in front of the cage.

And in the very same cage, was the white steel eel, swimming while staying in eye contact with Nagito.

But Nagito didn't back out, he didn't even feel afraid at the moment.

'What shall I do?' He thought to himself while leisurely observing the creature.

Everyone in the room was on edge, waiting for Nagito to make a move.

'Show me what you got.' Headon thought with a smile, not seen by anyone.

Then he took one step in, and the eel shot forward towards Nagito.

*BAANG*

But he quickly retracted his step, causing the eel to collide with the bars.

Yuri was just about to run towards Nagito but Evan blocked her.

"This is 'his' test remember? Just like Bam's, we can't interfere." He said to her and she just 'hmpf'' at him before pushing Evan away.

Nagito took this chance as he quickly made a run for it, towards the floating orb.

'He'll be disorientated for a bit, hope this will give me enough time...'

He thought while he was running and halfway through, the eel finally got up and began his chase.

But what Nagito didn't expect was the speed that the eel could truly traverse.

"WHA-" But he could't finish his sentence of disbelief as the eel was chasing him and narrowing was quickly narrowing the distance between the two.

And Nagito...

"Come on, don't despair. After despair there will always be hope... Hope.... Hope..." He was muttering while running for his dear life.

Then finally, the eel arrived behind him, opening his mouth wide to swallow nagito in one bite.

"HAHAAHAAHAHA, HOPE WILL ALWAYS WIN IN THE FACE OF DESPAIR!!" He started to laugh like a maniac while his eyes started to swirl. Giving everyone in the room a chill.

The eel didn't hesitate when he was in range and made a biting motion, but then.

Nagito tripped.

And everyone was in disbelief, as their eyes widened.

Nagito flew forward and his head then collided with the ball, but because of someone's stupid first law, he went rolling forward and stopped a couple of meters away from the ball.

The eel wasn't doing any better, he missed the chance to eat his meal and was too fast to decelerate. Causing him to crash into the wall, and creating shockwaves which made Nagito roll backwards. Just stopping before the ball.

"W-what just happened?" Evan asked in disbelief.

"Well, it seems that the boy tripped over the remains of the ball of the previous test."

"Aagh, whatever happened. NAGITO, GET UP AND TAKE THE BALL!!" Yuri shouted.

The next moment Nagito got up and took a quick look around to see what exactly happened.

"Hmm, just as I thought. There was never a reason to despair." He said nonchalantly before grabbing the ball and trying to get it to move.

...

But it wouldn't budge.

"... What's this?" He said to himself while still trying to move it.

Then Yuri and Evan both looked towards Headon and he just looked away.

"Headon... you really are petty." Yuri said.

*ROAAAR*

The eel roared furiously while clearing the rubble off of him. The beast's scream caused the room to fluctuate.

Then he set his gaze on Nagito once again.

"Well, it seems my luck finally ran out." Nagito said while staring at the approaching eel.

But then... once again...

*clink*

Something bizarre happened.

A noise came from above, and everyone's attention was diverted to it.

And in the never ending ceiling, a statue holding a sword could be seen.

But the statue wasn't holding the sword anymore...

It came falling down.

And...

*pssh*

Pierced the eel head, killing it in one blow.

The eel's lifeless body fell down.

*Boom*

Landing just before Nagito.

Everyone was looking at this scene in wild shock.

"Hmm, it seems lady luck does grace me." Nagito mentioned and took a better look at the sword that pierced the creature.

The way it was stuck in the eel's head, it looked like a sword. The blade was coloured light blue and had a little glow to it. The handle on the other hand was pitch black, and was moving as if it was alive.

The sword captivated Nagito and he couldn't help but walk towards the sword, as if it was calling him.

When he reached the sword, he grabbed the handle and pulled it out of the eel's head.

And what showed was the full blade, the sword's length was about the height of Nagito himself which was 180cm. The tip of the blade was flat.

"Oh, it's an executionar blade." He said while swinging the blade a bit.

'It's light.' He remarked inside.

But then the blade fluctuated and started to disappear, only to be absorbed by Nagito's shadow.

'Hmm, I can still feel the sword in my shadow... What a weird feeling.' He thought before making his way back to the orb.

Then he tried to grab the orb once again, and this time succeeding in getting it to move.

"Now, only to return it." And then he made his way to the group.

"You completed the test. So, do you have any questions?" Headon asked Nagito while receiving the ball form him.

"Yes, will I have to do more tests after this?"

'hmm? This one has a brain I see.' Headon thought.

"Yes, there will be a test on every floor to see if you are worthy to climb the tower."

"Alright, then let's go." He said as he couldn't wait any longer.

'Time to search for my 'hope''

"OY, WAIT A MINUTE!" Yuri screamed, sliding all the attention to her.

"you, Nagito. Do you have any weapon you can use?" Yuri asked.

"Hmm? Well, I have this I guess." He said before sticking his hand out, then a handle materialised and the sword that Nagito absorbed came into view.

"I see, that's the sword from before?" Evan asked curiously while looking at it.

"Yes, I was really lucky then. And I want to take it with me. Can't I" He asked.

"No, you can. But can you use a sword? Have you had any training before?" Yuri asked.

"Well, on the island, I did some sparring sessions with Peko-Chan so I guess I'll be fine." He said with a carefree smile while remaining in eye contact with Yuri.

"Fine, but can you do me a favour before going to the next floor?" She asked him.

"What kind will it be?"

"There is someone I want you to look after. His name is Bam, an Irregular like you. But you wouldn't know if you look at him. He seems way too ordinary to be one. Just when you see him, don't let him die."

There was silence for a few seconds before Nagito responded.

"Fine, I'll see what I can do."

"Thanks, Come on Evan! We have to go!!" She said while grabbing Evan and disappearing into the corridor with an Evan getting dragged by her.

"Release me you witch!!"

"WHAT DID YOU SAY, YOU!!"

*BAAANG*

after a while, there was not a sound to hear before Headon broke it.

"So, mister Nagito. Do you want to continue to the next floor?" Headon asked.

"...Yes." He said before a light enveloped Nagito.

And the next moment he disappeared.

After a moment, and confirming that no one was here anymore. Headon turned to a wall and spoke.

"Mind explaining the current of these events... Miss Rachel."

| 2de Floor - Evankhell's hell |

In the middle of a wide grassland, one can see a person lying on the ground.

"Ah."

And that person was non other then Nagito, as he quickly opened his eyes and sat up.

"Where am I?" He scanned his surroundings, only to find some rocks and a lot of grass.

'Have I gone to the land of reeds or something? Did I die?' He thought before looking up and seeing a floating...

"...Hotel?"

'No, more like a building.'

But then he heard a voice coming from a gray cube that was floating in the sky.

"This is Evankhell's floor. It is also called the 'floor of test' because...

Here we carry out the final test to see whether you are qualified to go up the tower!"

'Oh, so I'm in the tower now?' He thought while getting up on his feet.

'Then there should be another test right?'

"Well, I will explain the details later! First let's start the test!

It's been a long time since we warmed up!"

"Right on the money... Well, let's see what they got for us" He said while paying close attention to what the cube said

"The first test is simple! I will explain the rules so listen carefully!

The rule for the first test is as follows! There are 400 'regulars' here! Narrow that down to 200!

Try every means possible!

The test ends when the number of regulars reaches 200!

"... Well, another easy test." He said and started to walk in a random direction.

'He mentioned 'regulars'... and they seem to be a majority... It's best to keep it a secret that I'm a 'irregular'... At least don't mention anything about it would do fine...' And with that in mind he kept walking.

And after a while, he finally spotted a group before him fighting.

Well, fighting was an easy term as they were being beaten on sidedly.

But in the distance, he saw more participants sneaking upon the battle. Trying to get a kill or something.

Then he spotted a rock that was around a good size so he made his way to there.

And when he arrived, he sat on it and started to spectate the fight in front of him.

"Watching a fight is always the best, they always shift the fastest between hope and despair in a fight." He said with a crazed smile.
