HOPE

That's what everyone says to those who are beginning to fall into despair.

Try harder, they then say.

Effort breeds succes.

That's what everyone says... to give hope to the untalented.

But once the so called 'untalented' understand this fact, they will fall in utter despair.

Because in the end, there are only two types of people in this world.

Those who are born with talent.

And those who are not.

No matter how hard an untalented person tries.

They will never be the same as someone who was born with talent.

| 1F - Headon's Floor – 3rd Person POV|

In a dark corridor, three creatures could be seen talking to each other. With some more listening to the conversation they are having.

" Hey! you damn rabbit! What did you do to the ball?!" The dark haired woman screamed at what looks like a rabbit standing on two legs.

"Nothing, I just granted his wish." He responded kindly end respectively to the woman.

The he continued. "The boy... went up."

This news visibly shocked the woman. Which was clearly visible by her facial expression.

"Headon... What's really on your mind?" She asked in a cold voice while staring at the rabbit.

"I only... test those who enter the tower.

I just prepare a test that is equivalent to the value of their wish.

That is the fate of the tower administrator." He said while looking further in the corridor.

"Argh... You" The woman tried to say something but was stopped by a blinding light that came from the corridor. Shocking her for a second time.

"Wha- Lady Yuri!! The gate!! It's opening again... Which means!" Said

"That there is another, uninvited guest." Headon finished the little man's sentence. "Another 'Irregular'"

After the light dimmed, the three could see a boy lying on the ground.

"Well... Another pretty face. Are all irregulars just pretty boys?" The woman thought out loud.

"No, they're not." The rabbit answered while looking at a peculiar spot in the corridor.

"Well shall we wake him up?" The silver haired tiny man asked the others.

"Yes, Evan. Go wake him up. And do it fast. We need to find the other boy." She said before kicking the man named Evan in the back.

"Ouch, did you have to do that!!" Evan screamed out but only got a death glance in return.

"Aaagh, whatever... stupid princess." He complained before making his way to the boy.

When he arrived before him with Headon right next to him, he asked.

"And why are you following me, Headon?"

"Well, I am this floor's administrator so of course I have to test this young man when he wakes up."

"hmm, I see. And are you going to give him the same test as Bam?" Evan asked to which Headon only smiled creepily at him.

"Who knows..." He said before scanning the unconscious person in front of him.

the boy seemed to be a tall young man while lying on the floor. with notably wide shoulders, sickly pale skin.

He has shoulder-length hair that is naturally wavy, of an unnaturally pale pinkish off-white colour that fades to white the closer to his scalp, that seemed to not belong to a living person. His face is quite sharp, giving him an attractive look

He is wearing a thin, knee-length dark green zipper coat with a jagged-cut tail, which is left unzipped. It has a red square pattern across the right shoulder, as well as two red drawstrings, threaded through the hood, hanging down on either side of his chest. Underneath, he wears a white scoop-neck T-shirt with a red design on the front, somewhat resembling two interlocking hooks.

He wears plain black jeans, and a wallet chain with a skull charm, and pale brown shoes, each fastened by two zippers.

The sleeve of his left arm seems to have been ripped off and shows a prosthetic forearm. The prosthetic is white on the outer side and black on the underside. The palm is black, the backs of his fingers are white, and his thumb is white as well.

'Hmm, did something happen to his arm?' Evan thought before checking the boy's pulse.

"Alright, the boy has a pulse. Now to just wake him up."

"And how are you going to do that?" Headon asked.

"Easy." He said before grabbing the boy by the collar and setting him up straight.

And then...

*SLAP*

"HEY, WAKE UP!!" He screamed before a barrage of slaps came for the boy's cheek.

The others stared in mild horror as they could see the force of the slaps through heavy motion the head made, swaying from left to right furiously.

After a while, Evan dropped the body and came back to the group with a delighted expression.

"Did you have to relieve yourself on the boy Evan?" Yuri asked.

"Yes, my lady. All because of the amount of stress you give me every day."

Yuri then wanted to retort something but was interrupted by a pained moan coming from the corps- I mean the boy.

"Oh, so he didn't die." Yuri said before the group made their way towards him.

| 1F - Headon's Floor – ??? POV |

"Hmm, where... where am I." The boy asked while looking around the hallway. Bu then he heard a noise behind him.

"##%#$# @#$# $%@#%@"

"@#$@% #%$#"

"#$%# $%# @$%% @#*&^$#"

'What are they saying' He thought to himself before the rabbit talked.

"Yes, I'll just give him the standard E-grade pocket. Don't worry." The rabbit said before handing over a ball like object.

"Here, touch it." The rabbit said and the boy complied with not a worry in the world.

After touching the ball, the paper disappeared and what took it's place was a solid ball.

"Hmm? What's this?" He asked and the lady answered.

"It's a pocket, it has a myriad of functions such as translation and stuff. Quite handy." She explained.

"Oh, I see. Quite impressive for a tiny object." The boy said while poking the pocket a few times that was floating around him.

Then the silver haired dwarf began speaking.

"Alright, one more thing. Say 'Invisible mode' to the pocket." To which the boy just nodded.

"'Invisible mode'" Then the pocket disappeared.

'Hmm, quite handy. This.' He thought before returning his attention back to the group in front of him.

"So, what is this place?" Then the rabbit like creature began explaining

"You are in the tower. My name is Headon. I'm the guardion of the first floor of the tower. What is your name young man." He asked.

'A talking rabbit... How exciting.'

"Nagito Komaeda" He said.

"Hmm, what a difficult name. Let's call you Nagito.

Well boy, what do you desire?"

"What a desire?" Then the boy's eyes gray-green eyes started to darken and to swirl.

"It's obviously 'hope'..."

The next moment, everyone in the room felt a chill run down their spine and Evan took a step back.

'What kind of presence...' He thought.

'Another monster has arrived...' Headon thought.

'This... This is what an 'Irregular' should be like.' Yuri thought with a small smile.

Then Nagito snapped back to reality and his eyes returned back to normal.

"Well, Nagito. Whatever you wish to find will be at the top of this tower." Headon said while pointing upwards with his staff.

"Wether you are looking for wealth, immortality, absolute power, magical abilities or mysteries, just head up.

All the truth; glory, happiness and 'hope' of the world are all up there.

The tower is such a place."

Then he turned around .

"But do you have the resolve to climb that towe-" But he was cut off.

"Off course!! For hope, I will do anything to achieve it!" He said excitedly.

"Excellent, then let's put it to the test." He then pointed his staff at the cage in front of him and a small black sphere spawned at the other side.

"The test is easy, bring the sphere back to me." Headon said.

"Hmm, that's it? Easy." He said while taking a step into the cage but before he could continue, he was pulled back by someone.

"WHATCH OUT! IDIOT!!" Yuri screamed while pulling Nagito away from the cage.

And the next moment, a giant creature lunged itself at Nagito's previous location, crashing into the cage.

*BAANG*

What came into view was a gigantic, snake-like body covered with heavy steel-like armour.

"That right there, is a white steel eel boy. Remember that." Yuri said while walking over to the boy.

"I see, thank you lady. But who are you?" Nagito asked while getting up.

"I am Yuri and this is Evan. Nice to meet you 'Irregular'." She said with a smile before turning to Headon.

"Are you giving such an impossible test again? Even 'Bam' was lucky to succeed because he had the 'black march' with him. He even had to 'ignite' it!"

"Well, he too is an 'irregular' just like 'Bam'. So I think this test is a fitting one." Then the two of them did a back and forth, but Nagito was thinking of something else.

'Irregular, Bam.... Black march, ignite... What does is mean? Bam is a name, and Irregular is a title I guess. So just like this 'Bam. I am a 'irregular'. So that means that there are also regulars? And I don't even know what a black march is. Probably an object as this Bam had to use it...'

He then came back to reality as the quarrel between Yuri and Headon was almost over.

"So... Will you give him a weapon or not?" Headon asked teasingly.

"Miss Yuri, you can't!"

"... Damn you, Headon." Yuri said before facing towards Nagito.

"I'm sorry Nagito. Even tough I helped Bam, I can't help you." She said.

"Hmm, well no worry's. Let's leave it to lady luck then." Nagito said with a smile while walking towards the cage once again.

For the readers who have been reading my previous works, I declare that I am not dead. But I had a hard time these past few weeks. It's all personal but I can say that someone died close to me so ye... And I had a shitload of tests planned...

I think that I will be dropping one of my projects bec of this and also bec I have exams coming up too so ye...

I wanted to make this one cuz in my depression, I binged some novels and anime. And then I watched 'danganronpa' which made me even more depressed. But I found this character very intriguing and as there are almost no ToG FF's, which kinda surprised me. I started to brainstorm about this project so here we are...

Writing once again...

I'll probably make a few chapters of this one before updating the others and announcing which one I will drop.
