CHAPTER ONE

On a cold evening in the city of Lagos, A young man can be seen standing at the corner of a long, tall, bridge. His black, Ferrari car is parked a little distance from him.

He is dressed in a fancy, blue, suit, and black trousers. His left hand is in his pocket and he is holding a red box in his right hand.

He sighs deeply and shakes his head thoughtfully. Then he opens the red box, inside it, is a shiny, silver, ring, he holds the ring and looks at it.

He always believed women were heartless but he never knew they were this heartless.

Few hours ago, he broke up with his girlfriend, Lumin, who he had been dating for six months. He dumped her because she cheated on him with his best friend, Kyle.

He had a plan to propose to her on her twenty fifth birthday but she wasn't worth it, so he changed his mind.

He thought she was the one for him to marry and spend the rest of his life with, but he was wrong. He thought she would be the mother of his kids but that was only a fairytale.

Now he hates her with every fibre of his being. Looking at the ring, he despises her even more. And he cursed the day he met her. In pain filled anger and regret, he throws the ring into the deep waters that exists under the bridge.

For few seconds, he stares aimlessly at the sky, counting the stars, feeling the cool breeze on his skin. And wishing upon the stars that he would find true love in the next two years.

He shuts his eyes and tries to imagine a life without his ex girlfriend. And a sharp, evil thought forms in his mind. He smirks and enters his car.

Holding the steering wheel he sighs deeply, He takes out his phone from his pocket and scrolls to a certain app.

He checkes his hidden files and plays a CCTV Video of his ex girlfriend in bed with his best buddy. Kyle.

A clear footage, a hidden sex tape of the crime she committed. He left a spy camera in her room for security purposes.

he glares at the video in hate, then he grins. He has a revenge plan to ruin her life with this sex tape.

He will show the video to the world. And they will be ruined for what they did to him.

His best friend is a renowed lawyer and his ex girlfriend is a famous fashion designer. This video tape will surely go viral and ruin their reputation.

"It will be the perfect scandal, and the perfect karma."

He thought to himself.

This should be enough to get back at them for what they did to him. It will surely erase the pain, he feels in his heart or so, he thought.

Not only does he feel heartbroken, but he also feels betrayed.

Admist his thoughts, his phone rings, interrupting his mental trance, the sound of his ringtone stops his busy mind from thinking any further. He frowns when he sees the name 'Mum' pop up on his phone screen.

He declines the call immediately, cause he's not in the mood to talk to anyone, that's how sad he feels.

His phone rings again, he looks away, unwilling to answer the call.

As he is about to drive, a thought echoes in his mind.

"Answer your mother's call,

She could be in need of your help, it might be an emergency call, you don't know why she's calling you at this time of the day, don't allow your current mood to cause you future

harm. "

A voice in his mind advised him.

At this thought, he obeys the voice in his head and answers the call.

"Hey Ken, Where are you?"

His mother asked.

" I'm on my way. "

He answered.

" Okay, please stop by the supermarket and buy me fresh corn and veggies. "

She requested.

" All right, I will." He answered.

" Thanks. " She replied.

And the call ends.

Ken starts the car and drives down the lonely, coldby and dark road.
