Jake could not believe it even if she was to say it a hundred times. His mind simply blanked at the possibility of this.

"S–Sunderland? Kaiden called to say that he's on his way to here?"

"Calm down honey," Caroline tried to placate her son's mood by talking calmly. "Are you okay?"

"Okay?— Am I okay? Mom, there's no way I am okay about this, and him calling you is a no-no." Jake declared, breathing very hard.

His mom smiled at him.

"I didn't say Kai called me directly, honey. I got the call from your uncle Spence. It was he who told me how that Kaiden had rung him as an anonymous caller to have him informed of his decision to come and invariably you."

'Ah! So it was like that,' thought Jake, 'this means that Oliver hadn't heard mom correctly. But Kaiden coming to Sunderland is not going to change my mind though. Stupid move, but maybe he has a lover here who will make his stay worth it in the end. Definitely not me! Huff!'
