CHAPTER 131: Breakout
Shane Lecter and his men had already gone out and from his mental clock, Kaiden could guess that a long couple of hours had run off as swiftly as the wind. His anxiousness started to grow. The more he tried convincing himself that Jake was safe, the more he felt that disturbing scratch gnawing at his insides. He could not deceive himself any longer, Jake was in danger and it was all because of him.
Self-blame!
Of all the times his mind had to desert him and torment him sore, why did It have to be this time?
No! Kaiden thought. Too many useful hours had drifted without him cooking up a plan of escape and his mind was to blame for it.
With every force left in his body, Kaiden wanted to slap himself so hard. But even if he would do that, there was nothing to guarantee that he wouldn't be hurting himself to appease his guilty feeling over his desire to scold himself. For that singular reason, he refrained himself.
Right.
