Zev looked at his friend suspiciously. It was true that any sensible human being who'd seen Jake back at the fields; in that state and totally beat up, would be forced to think that the boy who'd done it to him; in this case, the culprit being Vaughn, any such eyewitness who knew the culprit who had done so, should easily come to conclude that Vaughn must have a secret beef against Jake. It could be something of a 'personal' origin or whataview. But Zev could not believe the threats that Kai had just mouthed concerning Vaughn.

Did he even know the implications of his words—!!

"Look." Zev pinched the skin of his brow area as he proceeded with his talk. "I think you should watch what you say in circumstances like this."

"And why should I give a damn about that? Vaughn went too far. Too frickin far and for all I know, he should be jailed or something."

"It was a game, Kaiden. A brutal game of Rugby. Anyone could have ended up hurt."
