CHAPTER 126 – Burden

The next couple of days passed me by, and when I wasn’t soaking in every word that the doctors and nurses were telling me, I was torn in a direction of wondering what Jace was keeping locked inside.

Looking upon his beautiful features, he was still waters that I was starting to drown in, and I needed him to wake up. More imperative than ever, I held his hand and begged him to come back to me. I was out of my depth on so many levels, and this was the time that he needed to tell me what had been going on.

The forecast for Jace’s recovery did look good, and that filled me with a relief that I’d never felt before in my entire life. He was starting to respond to stimulus, and I hoped and prayed that he would come out of the coma in one piece – for more than one reason.
