"Calm down, people!" Togon yelled. He went towards Gabe, who was staring into blank space, shell-shocked.
"Stay away! It isn't safe for you, Your Highness!"
"She must be using some kind of black magic! We can't protect you against that!"
"I have to get my bracelet back," Togon said.
"Let's kill her first then remove the bracelet. Once she dies, she can't do anything," Balthazar suggested.
"Fine," Togon retorted. He desperately needed his bracelet back. It was a gift from his precious mother! How could he allow a filthy murderer wear it for a second longer?
"Executioner, do your job. Behead her. Make it clean and quick."
The executioner stepped forward, wielding his sword.
Gabe stared with her mouth agape. Wait what? What was happening to her? Wasn't this supposed to be an interrogation, not an execution? Quick! She had to think of something before anything happened to her!
"NO!" Gabe screamed, "NONONONONONONO!!! I'll do anything! I'll be your faithful servant! You can do anything to me! Just don't kill me! Please!"
"Isn't it too late for all that?" Togon gestured to the executioner to hurry up.
The executioner lifted his sword.
Gabe could not believe how easily the crazy prince gave the order to chop her head off. Doesn't he have a conscience? Wouldn't he feel guilty to be the cause of someone's death? An innocent life on top of that! She whimpered, her eyes pleading. Her heart was thumping in her chest so hard that it felt like a hammer. What had she done? Why was this happening to her? She lowered her head, awaiting her fate.
The sword began its trajectory down. Togon shut his eyes. He never liked watching people's deaths.
Then, there was a collective gasp of shock.
Was it over? Togon first opened one eye, then the other. The scene before him was a bloody mess, but the assassin and her head was nowhere to be seen.
"She disappeared!" Someone shouted.
"She was there one moment, then the moment my sword sliced her neck, she was gone!" The executioner exclaimed.
"Where's my bracelet?!" Togon wailed.
