Through Your Eyes

Just when I thought I had successfully moved on from a loveless relationship, I realized I had made the same mistake again. I fell in love again with a kind and handsome billionaire, and I thought he was already the perfect man. Before our marriage took place, I learned about his deep secret--the secret that evolved around my identity. And the secret that shattered my respect for him. I broke off our engagement and claimed everything that belonged to me. I hated him like he was the fiercest criminal in the world. I accused him as a thief, stripping him off from his once, dazzling glory. But then, a particular event led me to the truth. Only to know that I was late already!

SEAN'S POV

"Miss," I froze when I saw the person whom Red addressed. "Are you the third applicant?"

Calla frowned after she shifted her gaze between Red and me. I knew she felt bad when she saw Red and me kissing.

"You are in the wrong office," I said, but my heart was already in my throat. This woman was indeed hard to turn down. "The HR office is on the left-wing, and you are in the right."

I stepped back so Red couldn't see my facial expression. I placed Calla temporarily at the hotel while I was still thinking about what's the best thing to do. A few days later, I asked Philip to fetch her and bring her to my office. However, instead of bringing her directly there, Philip took her instead to the clinic. I almost choked to death when I saw her. I still didn't get the nerve to tell Red that Rya Sevilla was Calla.

I pretended to show Calla the way to the HR office. I was glad I succeeded, but Calla's face twisted like a crumpled paper. She never hesitated to show herself to Red, and I hated her for that. I never expected that she would be a headache.

I brought Calla to my room in Laminae, Inc. because I presumed that I could hide her well inside the roof of my company. Only administrators and staff were allowed to enter, and I made sure that the security measures were tight. Applicants underwent strict screening so as not to enable any spy to enter my territory.

"Whose room is this?" Calla asked as she looked around. She was standing at the doorway, inspecting every furniture and appliance with her eyes.

"Mine."

She looked at me and locked my gaze with hers. "Does it mean we will be living together?"

"I have another place to go to. This company is big."

"Sean, if only I could turn back the time, I would not have sent you away from my life."

I smiled. I just didn't know how to tell her that our meeting was an unexpected mistake. I may not have regretted that I met her, but I was already fated to marry Red.

"I'm sorry, but I am already committed to someone else."

Calla let out a sardonic laugh. "Sean, you are not married yet. You can still break free from her."

"And what about you? Can you let go of the president?" I challenged her.

She laughed softly, but her eyes glistened with unshed tears. She looked away and took a deep breath before facing me again.

"Sean, I am just a mistress. I can have him as long as our relationship does not leak yet. I know very well the role that I have accepted." She slowly walked towards me and flung her arms around my neck.

"Please, take me back," she begged, looking into my eyes. I looked away. The warnings of Cynthia always played at the back of mine every time she gazed at me.

"I'm sorry, Calla," I said softly and pulled out her arms from my neck. However, she was quick in sealing my lips, holding both sides of my head. Calla was tall, and even if I was taller than her, her high-heeled sandals leveled up her height to mine.

Sir Thomas' face flashed in my mind, and I felt guilty. I used some force to extricate her arms from me, but one of her hands cupped my manhood while she tried to resist. I held my breath. I will be lying again if I say I did not react; the memory of our lovemaking was too intense to forget. She took this moment as her chance to win over me. He stroked my pet, and it easily bulged out under my trouser. This was already the second time she made the same approach. The first time was in the hospital.

"You still want me, Sean. Why do you have to lie at yourself?" I was embarrassed because it appeared that I was not true to myself.

"You were right when you said that the only thing that bound us was only sex. And sex can be done without affection." My voice already cracked, showing my irritation.

I saw how Calla's face paled in embarrassment. And at that moment, I had seen her concealed attitude. She couldn't accept rejection, and she hated to be turned down. I had hurt her pride.

"What about the baby?"

"And what about it?" I challenged her. Though we had sexual encounters, she was also with the president.

"Sean, do you want me to spell it out for you? My baby is eight weeks old, exactly the time when we had sex every night for a week. Don't you think I could get pregnant?"

I smirked. I admit I got addicted to her and that I was dying to find her again when she disappeared. Now that I had found Red, I already completely forgot about her. My second reason aside from the president's request to keep her was that I wanted to supervise her pregnancy just because I had the feeling that the baby in her womb was mine.

"Calla, you were also with the president-" I couldn't finish it. I knew it was an insult to deny her pregnancy after the sexual bliss I had with her.

"Sean, if the president is around, I would not have sneaked around with you. I know you have an idea of how busy he is."

Calla was right. As the country's president, he didn't have the luxury of time.

"Calla, if ever the baby is mine, I wouldn't turn my back on him. I will support all his needs and will give him my name. But we will do the DNA test first. I would not hesitate if I didn't know about your relationship with someone else."

I left her gaping at what I said, and she stood pinned to the floor. I went into my room and took all my things. I didn't have much because I preferred going home. I also had a small, private room in my office, and some of my belongings were there. I had to hurry up; Red and I were going to have lunch together. I even did multi-tasking. While I was moving and arranging my things in her room, I was also preparing our lunch.

Drenched with my dripping sweat, I took off my long-sleeved shirt and retained my undershirt only. I knew I looked messy and sweaty already because I was catching up with time.

I tried to be quicker; it's almost lunchtime already. Thankfully, I had moved all my things to Red's room before the noon break. However, my eyes grew wide when I saw Red inside the room. I was not ready to meet her yet. I was too ashamed of my messy appearance.

"Where have you been?" Her eyes were boring deeply into my soul as if she knew that something happened in the other room. I felt guilty, and I couldn't look into her eyes.

"I'm sorry, I kept you waiting," I answered. How could I tell her that I got busy because I was keeping Calla in my room and that I have to move my things to her place?
