Swap and Honest reviews

On the one hand, a real review, it should be detailed, detailed, complete, reflect the pros and cons. There must be reasoned criticism so that the author grows, rewrites chapters, novels, so that they become brighter. But that's about honest reviews. This is bitter, sobering information for a writer. The critic gives directions where the author can improve his work.

With regard to swap reviews, they are simply given in order to raise the rating, to get words of encouragement, usually, there are ratings from 5 to 4 stars. But sometimes there are surprises. You can easily get 3 and 2 or even 1 star.

From the point of view of an equal exchange as in a steel alchemist, it is amazing to get three stars instead of 4, when he himself gave 5 or 4 stars in a swap review and not an honest review.

But on the other hand, each person thinks differently, he has his own code, one carries out an equivalent exchange following the unwritten rules. This is alien to another, since his knowledge of the language, his knowledge of literature is better, he hates giving high marks for a story that is clumsy, a text block that is not smooth.

This point of view is understandable. It is good when the reviewer also gives directions. Then the author, who did not expect to receive a lower mark in the swap review, gets sober and goes to rewrite the work. You shouldn't be offended here. Since the remark only goes to improve the novel itself.

Although ... there are those who have English as their first language. They are sick of bad English, with mistakes and a clumsy text block. From the point of view of the reader, they may be right, but always, there are "if and but". If the author was written in their native language, there would be no such mistakes. But English is the world's language. So here you need to relate to not very good English, calmly, the authors, like myself, in the process of writing new novels, learn the language, their vocabulary becomes richer. They share their stories with the world. Sometimes the content turns out to be so exciting or useful in terms of obtaining new information that the slightly clumsy form of the textual presentation of the story fades into the background.
