Ideas for Writing a New Novel and Editing

But oh well. There is an idea to write a novel about a gourmet. The idea seems to be interesting. But, as usual, English is not yet good enough for the idea to play. And probably there will be 60-100 chapters. Short stories. Not so much a novel. As my friend says, now in Japan, an already large series of 64 episodes of 1 hour is not so popular. People simply do not have enough time to view.

They work a lot. With refining. Harsh reality. Not usual for us 8-10 hours, but 12-14. Sleep 4-6 hours. The rest is rest, get home, buy food and cook. Sat and Sun sleep off. Well, she writes like that. In Japan, I did not live long, so I can't say whether it is true or not. But now there are TV shows, as an example, Agricultural stories. 11 episodes of 11 minutes. That is, for 1 series, one story.

One of the options for writing a short story about a gourmet or writing a novel, but short. Since writing a long story of 300 or 500 chapters, it seems to me not a very good idea.

Just pouring from empty to empty.

The content may be such for example:

Volume 1 - The Gourmet's Young Years

Volume 2 - The youth of a gourmet, the acquisition of new experience, eating tasty things

3 Tom - Own restaurant, cooking recipes

Volume 4 - Adventures in another world, cooking (but it's already a cliche, stamping, with small variations, compilation, I don't really like the reader myself).

Volume 5 - the comprehension of new heights of cooking - and a smooth transition to the second season.

Does each volume have 20 chapters ?! In the chapter from 550 to 1100 words for example.

If English is not so good, then reading long text blocks will be tedious.

Editing can have both depth and quality levels after this text block.

1 - primary - proofreading of the author of "raw materials"

2 - proofreading with the help of a computer editing program, for example, "Grammarly".

3 - proofreading using another computer program for editing text or translation

4 - minimum paid editing of 80,000 words will cost $ 200 - a college student or high school student who has an English second language

5 - paid minimal editing - relatively high quality, by a native speaker, for example, from Canada, Australia, New Zealand, etc. - $ 800 for the same 80,000 words

6 - mid-level paid editing by a student of a philological university, native speaker - $ 1,100 for 80,000 words

7 - paid, slightly above average editing - by a graduate of the philological faculty from the USA or Canada, a native speaker, the price for 80,000 words is from 1,500 to 2,200 dollars.

Data were taken from Google.

Well, whoever is rich, that is not a problem. Our average salary for an engineer is from 130 to 250 dollars, depending on the degree of Doctor of Philosophy or Doctor of Science.

So that...

... and if then this edition does not bring profit, then this is money down the drain ????!

There are two options left - to learn English grammar yourself, but the level will certainly not be so good, the second one could look for people to edit at a minimum level.

In the meantime, it may make sense to first complete the novels, at least two out of 4.

And then write chapters 20 for a new novel, draw a title page. And only then publish it.

Does the idea seem interesting? But is it really so? Would it be plagiarism? Or is it called borrowing ideas?

Is there enough fervor, enthusiasm to keep an interesting and incendiary level among the chapters? Or will an interesting idea quietly come to naught by itself? There are many questions, but there are no answers yet.

All the same, external events, I repeat, play a large role in writing novels.
