Bitter truth

Lyla joined the two of her friends whose just finish eating. Now they're just sitting at their favourite spot looking out the open window that can oversee the beaches down below. They're not fond of drinking alcoholic drink because they prefer drinking either juice, tea or coffee. Three of them have been together since kindergarten up until she decided to 'move' to K city. They follow her here no matter what she says. And even got married here and stayed close to where her restaurant is. It was just 30 minutes walk.

"I could never get tired of this view. I could come here everyday if it wasn't for my company that's on the opposite direction of your restaurant." Alexander said, sighing to the perfect view. Especially when the sun starts to set. The waves just crashed onto rock absurdly. Even other customer starts paying attention to this moment while sipping their drinks. It's one of Lyla's restaurant attraction.

"I know. It's the reason i decided to open a restaurant here. For others to appreciate what they forgot in the midst of developing the city." Lyla smiled.

"You've never cease to amazed me. I thought you were crazy when you said you wanted to open a restaurant here. Which is the reason why i forced Alexander to come with me so that i can persuade you to not think about it. Who knows 8 years later, here you are having the greatest gift in your life. Your decision back then, it was worth it." Brittany starts to open up the taboo topic that they've been trying to avoid. But with the recent news that Alexander told her this morning, she could not be worried and wanting to warned her beforehand. Lyla raised her eyebrow. Her instinct are never wrong. And it seems they wanted to tell her something her family.

"Lyla..." Brittany stop for a moment to peek her reaction. Even Alexander is feeling nervous.

"You've heard something from them?" Lyla asked seeing the hesitation in her friend's eye. Both of them nodded. She breathe in deeply, trying to calm herself and preparing to hear what they wanted to tell her.

"They're looking for you. According to my father because they wanted the shares that you have. Right now, the company is in turmoil after your cousin took over. They thought they made a good decision by placing that person as the CEO after your father retires. But somehow they've been doing badly. The shares starts to drop and they needed your help to stabilize the company. Some of the shareholders wanted you to take over because they've seen you work when your grandparents are still alive. But some doubt about your qualifications because you didn't...you didn't..."

"Because i didn't graduate." Lyla continued Brittany's sentence. Both of them nodded. Lyla smiled bitterly.

The so-called-family of hers. Ever since her grandparents died when she was 15 years old, her family decided to stopped her education to give way to her other siblings. Not knowing what she did wrong, she was treated like a pest ever since she was small. Her only protection is her grandparent. But when they died from car accident, her life changed. She becomes their maid, she was forced to stop going to school and she was not allowed to even go out. Her father made her do all the companies work from home because of her outstanding IQ, he decided to take all the credits for the works that she's done behind the scene. In short time, the company starts blooming under her behind the scene work. All the important projects would be placed onto her and she's been working non-stop for three years. She's been tortured mentally and physically during those three years. One day, she felt like she almost gone crazy she decided to run away. Taking the money that her grandparent left for her, she chose K city as her destination after some thoughts. A small city that never attracts the riches. Once she settled down, she finally contacted Alexander and Brittany, leaving a secret message to avoid her whereabouts getting traced. They immediately went to K city because they haven't heard anything from her for almost three years. Her family said she went to study abroad but they could not help but doubt that something was amiss. Even when they try to ask her brother and sister, they said the same thing in a disdain way. Alexander and Brittany never lose hope that one day Lyla would contact them again. So when they saw Lyla's surreptitious message, they immediately react. After knowing the full story from her, they were enraged and sadden because Lyla had to go through all of that for almost three years until the point she almost lose her mind. They were thankful because she manage to get away from her evil family and today they wanted Lyla to come back to save the company. Not in a millions chance would they let them find Lyla.

Lyla's right eye turn into dark purple which almost close to black indicating her anger that starts to rise. She decided to forget about them because she doesn't want to care about those fake family of hers. She knew the truth now. She was never their daughter to begin with. She was the only heir from Lyon Lockhart. And her grandparents are the one that took care of her when her real family went missing without any reason why. Leaving her all alone in the hands of the Jade's family. Grandfather Jade favors her more instead of his sons. The company was supposed to be manage by her but because she's still underage when her grandparents died, the so called father decided to take over until she's 18 years old. Little by little her so called father, Mr. Liam took the shares that was supposed to be under her name. She only realized when she decided to run away. She didn't really care at that time because even so, she still have 20% of the Grandeur Company's share under her name. She will pay her debt towards her grandparents that's been protecting her but she will not hand over Grandeur Company to anyone from that family. Her grandparents trusted her and she will not fail them.

"I don't care if they find me. They can't do anything towards me. In fact, they're the one who will be begging for me to save them. I'm settling my debt and my revenge all in one go." Lyla said after quite sometime. Money is not everything. For money can't buy her what she have right now. But what of her real family? What happen to them? She didn't want to think about it at the moment. However, she forgot one person in her life. The person who will never let her forget him in the near future.
