Magic, Not so Simple
I cursed under my breath several times on the way to the association building. First the blunder of opening the door before I had gotten dressed, next was burning my tongue on the coffee Mat offered me, and now I had run into a pole because I didn't pay close enough attention.
I vowed to never stay up late again. When I was a teenager it was so easy to stay up late to study or read, but now it is impossible.
"Maybe you should take my arm. I will make sure you don't run into anything or anyone else." Mat offered me his arm but I walked past him instead.
He wanted to make this another moment of trying to gain my romantic interest. No matter how many times I told him I was not interested he always managed to try again.
Maybe one of these days he would wear me down. At my age I should want to settle down or have a fling, but all I could see in front of me was the tower and saving Kei.
