Chapter 140: Xue Li

Even though I was tempted to sleep the night away or hole up in my room, watching anime, I decided to visit the deck when it was dark. Maybe it was a premonition, or perhaps my Heavenly Flow and Earthly Paths had detected something in the far distance. Whatever the case, I couldn't help but leave my room and seek open air.

To my surprise, Xia Xing Yue was lounging out there. She was leaning against the railings that surrounded the deck of the cruise ship, basking in the sea breeze. Her long, black hair gently swayed behind her, the strands carried aloft by salty currents.

Without turning around, she smiled and nodded.

"So you came up here for some fresh air too?"

"Honestly? No." I would rather spend more time watching anime in my room. Riding on ships wasn't my kind of thing, or I would have joined the navy. "I felt a disturbance in the force…as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror, and suddenly silenced. I fear something terrible has happened."
