Chapter 62 — Truth Or Dare?

"Chuanmo you're here? Come in quickly, you're just in time!" Zhang Heying beckoned to him when she saw him at the door.

Li Chuanmo sat down beside Pei Yueran on the bed and took her hand. Zhang Heying, Li Qianye and Li Yuchen were sitting on chairs and stools.

"What are you playing?"

It was Li Yuchen that answered, "Go Fish! I'm the dealer. Grandma, Gramps and my Goddess are the players, but Grandma and Gramps are working together, so my Goddess is at a disadvantage.

Li Qianye had been shamelessly showing his cards to his wife so Zhang Heying was always the first to collect a full set, and if she had a single card, Li Qianye would always request it.

They claimed to be playing cards, but in fact, they had been feeding Pei Yueran and Li Yuchen dog food. Their display of affection was blinding.

All of them were really happy that Li Chuanmo had come, but for different reasons.

Li Yuchen dealt a new set of cards. Each of the players got five cards each. Li Qianye and Zhang Heying immediately showed each other their cards, so Li Chuanmo showed Pei Yueran his cards too.

The game had began. It was Pei Yueran's turn to be the "requester". She had two eights, while Li Chuanmo just happened to have two eights as well. She requested an eight from Li Chuanmo, who gave her the two eights he had.

She made a match within the first minute of starting the game. She was very excited.

As expected, she won the round.

The game continued, and it was very exciting. Zhang Heying and Li Qianye were more than happy to let her win with Li Chuanmo's help, since that was the whole purpose of the game.

By the time they had finished playing three rounds, Pei Yueran had won all three times. She almost hugged Li Chuanmo in excitement, but remembered at the last second that they had company, so she held back.

The "conspirators" that were looking to see some action were disappointed. Li Yuchen looked at his grandmother, who nodded slightly.

It was time for plan B.

Just as Li Yuchen started dealing cards for the next round, he suddenly held his tummy. "My tummy hurts, I want to use the toilet. I don't think I'll come back", he said before running off.

Li Chuanmo said nothing, while Li Qianye volunteered to deal the cards. Zhang Heying glared at him before suggesting, "Now that Li Yuchen has left, why don't we play something more interesting? This game is for kids after all."

Li Chuanmo looked at his mother. He was sure she was up to something again.

Pei Yueran, who had no idea that something was fishy, nodded and agreed happily. She was having a lot of fun.

Zhang Heying announced, "then let's play truth or dare!"

Li Qianye agreed enthusiastically, while Pei Yueran hesitated.

"It's simple Ran'er. Haven't you played this game before? The questions would be simple and if you don't want to answer, you could choose a dare. The penalty will be to drink wine, but since you're still recovering, it would be better not to."

Pei Yueran thought about it and agreed. As for Li Chuanmo, he had no choice. He had to join the game by force.

Zhang Heying came prepared. She spun a bottle of mineral water on the table and the bottle cap faced Li Qianye. She asked, "Truth or dare?"

"Truth."

"Who's your favorite person in the whole world?"

Without suspense, Li Qianye shouted like a soldier, "My Wifey Zhang Heying." He also snuck a kiss on her lips while she grinned.

The game continued. It was Li Qianye's turn to spin, and the cap pointed at Zhang Heying. He asked, "Truth or dare?"

"Dare."

Li Qianye whistled. "Fine. Go and sit on the thighs of the person you like best, and hug the person you like second best in this room."

Zhang Heying looked around for a moment, then stood up and sat gracefully on her husband's thighs. Li Qianye wrapped his arms around her wait to steady her. She then reached out across the short table to hug Pei Yueran gently.

Li Chuanmo was left looking at them indifferently. Was this game their means of spreading dog food? He looked at Pei Yueran.

On her part, Pei Yueran was surprised. So Zhang Heying was saying she loved her more than her son? Pei Yueran honestly thought this was impossible, but she appreciated the effort to include her in this family affair. She smiled at Zhang Heying.

The game continued. It was Li Chuanmo's turn to spin, and it landed at Li Qianye. He narrowed his eyes, "Truth or dare?"

Li Qianye chose "truth" again.

"At what age did you have your first kiss?"

Li Qianye was about to give an answer, but he suddenly paused. He then took the glass of wine at his side and downed it, while Zhang Heying laughed at him.

Pei Yueran was confused. Why didn't he answer? And if it was because it would offend his wife, why did she laugh without a hint of jealousy?

It turned out that Li Qianye had his very first kiss when he was 16. He and Zhang Heying attended the same school, although she was his junior at that time.

He and his friends were also playing "Truth or dare" that day, and he was dared to kiss the first girl he saw once he stepped out of the classroom, because he was a bit of a nerd and his friends were sure he would not do it.

Zhang Heying was very angry but she couldn't do anything. She left after glaring at him.

Li Qianye, who was feeling guilty, decided to apologize to her. He bought her flowers and gifts as he went to her class repeatedly to apologize. She refused to listen to him.

A few days later, he caught her alone in the prep room. He stopped her from leaving and apologized sincerely again, slapping himself in the process. Zhang Heying finally forgave him, and they became friends.

Li Qianye glared at his son for asking such an embarrassing question, but he did not dare to glare at his wife, who told Pei Yueran the whole story. Li Chuanmo smirked at him.
