Chapter 4

The old butler walked alongside his guests into the great mansion or land. It was huge, so huge that you will get lost in it.

The butler however seemed to have mastered it as he led them inside. Maids and other fellow butlers were passed by and they greeted the old man.

He acted humble and kind though quickly told them of his current important task, although each and everyone one of them looked at the guests.

Both Larnry and Gremswort quickly took noticed that several of those servants were trained in some sort of combat technique.

The way they carried themselves and looked at them said it all, no words were mentioned between them however as silence was much preferred between them.

They soon arrived at what seemed to be a dinning hall with guards guarding every corner of the room.

There were noticeable knights mixed in but Larnry believed that most of them were in house guards.

Their armour and clothing differed greatly from the other two outside, no chainmail but a full covered and armourd soldiers.

His face hidden under his helmet and several had a diverse set of weapons. There was however some that carried the same.

Larnry assumed the ones with different weapons were either wandering knights or from such orders or were commissioned just like he was.

The room was large and in it's center was a large and long table, which was currently occupied by what seemed like the members of this family though there were obvious empty seats.

The butler led them to what seemed to be the head of the house, Duke Gerland Roseworth.

Their arrival seemed to cause a pause towards the families dinner as each had a diverse set of emotions.

The butler caused us too stop just before the Duke as he walked closer to him. We were just at the edge of where our longswords could reach him if we stretched.

The heads seat was obviously different from the others as the emblem of the family was carved into it which showed both from the back and from the front of the seat.

It was Larger and seemed much more majestic than the rest placed at the table. The butler whispered into his ear for some seconds before stepping aside.

He drooped his cutleries before staring at us, his eyes scanned us before his mouth opened up and uttered words aloud.

Breaking the unknown but arrived silence in the room.

" Alina !"

He called out aloud as he turned his head to face one of his kids, a girl whom was quite young with a long red hair.

"Yes, Father !"

She replied to him quickly and lowered her eating utensils, placing her hand on her laps as she waited for him.

Her eyes shone with purity and a tad bit of understanding, like that of a smart young child still niave and all that.

" Your..."

He began only to pause after a single word, lowering his head slightly. I could see a tad bit of sadness and regret in his eyes.

The Female on his right, I assume to be his first wife. Slowly moved her hands towards his before they clusped and grabbed each other tightly.

The one on the left however remained still with her head lowered as occasionally her hands lifted up, transporting the food on her plate into her mouth.

There was however the little shaking which was barely controlled in her figure. This room wasn't cold, hence that couldn't be the reason.

Larnry reasoned to himself as he looked closer, the kids were obviously oblivious to what made probably caused this.

The eldest.....no, there was more than one of them. If sitting the way they are could be used to assume their position in the family then.

The male would be the eldest followed by the female opposite him, except they seem more like equals.

Anyways the male whom sat at the left side of the Duke seemed to notice something was wrong as he shifted around whilst tighting his grip on his poor utensil.

Clearly his muscles were tensing like he expected something to come for him....or maybe not for him.

Anyways it was probably a family matter, politically I dare say so myself. Can't be honor since she's too young nor can it be about upholding some traditions.

Cause they requested us, bred to kill. Not for peace or anything but to kill and serve. Maybe an internal family conflict or something else.

Oh, better shut up now!. Duke's about to speak again.

" Alina these are your new companions along with Melissa whom will accompany you to the North. You will answer to the Duke of the Northern Order's call to aid. "

Bang!

" Father !"

"Father ?"

"Father !"

"Father??"

Once the Duke had finished talking there was a loud bang from the dinner table. It was from the boy that Larnry assumed to be the eldest.

The word Father rang out throughout the room as several of the Kids seemed to have been caught off guard.

The Duke seemed to have expected this as he seemed calm and collected whilst he watched his kids throw their tantrums in the air.

" You bloody knew!!"

The male Boy said aloud and furious as he raised the fork in his hands and pointed the at the female besides him.

" Yes, yes I did."

She answered him calmly as she stopped eating and looking him dead in the eye, once more it would seem like she had expected this....just like her father.

" I bloody told you to let me answer that but no, you bloody decided to choose her.!"

He began as a dangerous aura seemed to leak from him, his voice thundered through the room making larnry have second thoughts on the boys age.

" It was necessar-"

The female began but was shut down quickly by the boy as he seemed content awith not letting her speak.

" Of course that's what you'll bloody say. I remember asking you, no I did tell you that if the chance comes for that request. Choose. ME. "

He said as practically began screaming before turning to his father, fully intent on voice his thoughts to him.

" It was the best political-"

The female began once more, trying her best it would seem to not lash out at me in turn.

" Your not meant to deal with the political relationship of our family, Father is or perhaps even mother....not you. I am next in line as Heir to the- "

The boy began again as once more he banged on the desk again but this time with his palm. The sudden noise seemed to scare the younger kids as some of them visible jumped up in fear.

" Cause your f*cking dumb Gerlan, you can't bloody control yourself-"

She began only for her mother to quickly turn and scold her.

" Language Rosetta. "

The female on the right barked at Rosetta as she turned to look at her.

" What of Bloody f*cking Gerlan, his stupid outburst is clearly scaring the kids and his using bloody in his language too. "

She began as she turned to her mother, unwilling to simply calm down for some odd reason.

" You just bloody called me dumb didn't you.?"

Gerlan began once more as he paused and began to process what his sister had just said.

" Do I look like your F*cking mate " screamed Gerlan in anger as he raised his hands and point to himself.

" I don't care, last time we let you attend a political party. You barely contained yourself and would have killed someone. " Rosetta screamed back at him as she now stood up and pointed at him in anger.

" They wanted to f*using have us marry our 6 year old sister to some old wrinkle bastard " Gerlan barked back, his voice containing that of confusion now.

" Your lashing could have cause a war between us, one that those dirty nobles would gladly jump in inorder to profit from. " Rosetta countered him as she gnashed her teeth, seemingly thinking back on the event.

" So what did you want me to do, smile and lick their smelling feet. Damn you, we own the title of Duke yet we let some lowly noble utter insults to our face. " Gerlan spoke back as he used his body to further show or act out his actions.

" Politics, Gerlan. F*cking Politics. " Rosetta replied to him as she pointed to his head and got out from her seat.

" Oh politics, so your telling me that sending our 12 year old sister to a war with barely any of our family knights is also politics. " Argued Gerlan.

" Oh and don't get me started on how she has been able to manifest her will unto her blade causing her to be basically defenseless against normal weapon. "

" Or the fact that those bastards won't try to kill her or manipulate her for their own use. This isn't politics....this is keeping us in check "

" Better her than you, your the heir like you said. Your death would cause more harm than hers and clearly I can't lead the family....you f*cking know that. " Replied Rosetta as she had now lowered her voice considerably.

" Can you hear yourself, that's your family your talking about. You can't just throw away family just like that. " replied Gerlan as he spoke in a suprised and began growing into an angry tone.

" Her death would hardly do any political harm to the family which benefits all of us besides her participation in this war would provide her prestige and honour-."

" Shut it you heartless thing. I can't believe I once called you my sister-" began Gerlan as he seemed disgusted now.

" Gerlan!, that's your sister your talking about not a thing. You will apologize." The female on the Duke's right right cautioned and warned.

Larnry could swear that the Duke's family were not only strong in title but also individually....and if so...then why allow all this noise.

" No, mother. That is not my sister, what honour and prestige would help her if she was dead. " Gerlan continued ignoring his mother's warning.

" Political shielding you fool, as she grows older she will become a target for power hungry fools. This war will establish her as someone not to be taken lightly. Besides it's just for 5 years. "
