Chapter 1: The Prince’s Bodyguard

"Prince Kyo, please reconsider" screamed a maid. "NEVER!!! Tell my father that I DON'T want HIM as MY bodyguard!!!" Yelled Prince Kyo as he slammed the door to his room. "His majesty won't be happy about this..." muttered the maid. In a world full of vampires, Prince Kyo was appointed a bodyguard. "I can't believe father made HIM MY bodyguard..." wrote Kyo in his Journal. He always wrote down important things in it, it allowed him to keep track of things. *nock nock* "is it HIM?!?" Thought Kyo as he stared at the door. The door opened. It was Winter, Kyo's new bodyguard.

"WHY are YOU here?!?" Asked Kyo in a cold voice. "His majesty asked me to come here." Said Winter. "Will I DON'T want YOU here." Said Kyo. Winter ignored Kyo and just sat down. "Why do you hate me?" Asked Winter. "You're part of the Sato finally!!! You CAN'T be trusted." Said Kyo. The Sato finally are known criminals, some of them work in gangs, but Winter's family is trying to put it in the past and start over. But in the eyes of Kyo, the Sato are and will always be criminals. Winter stayed silent, not knowing what to respond with, so an awkward silence filled the room.

After a few minutes of silence, there was a nock at the door. "Your majesty, Dinners been prepared." Said a maid. "Must I go?" Asked Winter. "You may have your food here if you want." Responded the maid. "Thank you." Said Kyo. "I'll be back with your food in a minute." Said the maid as she left. "Let me guess, you get the best blood in the kingdom?" Said Winter. "Of course, being a vampire prince allows you to have the best blood in the kingdom." Responded Kyo. "As expected." Said Winter while rolling his eyes. "You're just jealous that you AREN'T a royal." Said Kyo. Winter ignored him.

"Your majesty, here's your dinner." Said a maid as she placed a glass of blood on Kyo's table. "You're dismissed." Said Kyo. The maid left and again that awkward silence filled the room. Kyo started drinking when Winter Said "His majesty said I'd be staying with you, until the maids cleaned my room." Kyo stopped drinking. "WHAT?!?" Yelled Kyo. "You heard me." Said Winter. Kyo was filled with anger at those words, he hated Winter but there was another reason, other than the fact he was part of the Sato family. "Fine, but you're sleeping on the floor." Said Kyo. "Agreed." Said Winter.
