Chapter 68

"I got out of class early and dad said you guys got another wave of new clients and that it was getting to be a bit much. I figured I'd come down and help some more." I said, my tone light and cheerful. My mood never ceased to brighten whenever I was around him. He just made me smile nonstop.

"I really appreciate the help." He said sincerely before picking up a file and getting to work. We worked side by side for about an hour before I got up to file away a new client's information when I ran into Beckett. My paper's went flying everywhere as I had to grip his crisp white dress shirt too keep from falling over. His thick arms were wrapped around my torso in an attempt to stop my ascent to the ground. We stared into each other's eyes for what seemed like an eternity before his gaze flitted down to my lips. My tongue slipped out to wet them and I watched as his pupils dilated before he squeezed them such and righted my body.
