Aftermath in the Infirmary

(3rd POV)

In the infirmary you see the King pacing back and forth as the healers do their best to heal our protagonist Kayde. The Queen's face looks as if a demoness has descended while she looks at the headmaster with intensity.

Off to the side of the Prince lies his party members. They are asleep unaware of the struggle the prince is going through. Then the silence is broken by the king.

"HOW COULD THIS HAVE HAPPENED!?!"

The healers faces paled as they heard him roar his displeasure.

"My son shouldn't have been in any life threatening danger!! How did you guys manage to let a DEMON into your academy!?"

After he said his piece the queen started to shed tears. Her face shifting from that of a demon to a distraught mother unable to help her son.

The Headmaster spoke up once the king was done.

"I have the best investigating the demons background. We are looking for any possible connections to those that would wish harm to your son and this kingdom."

The king looks at his son and nods.

"I'm going back to the castle, have them send me everything they find to me."

As the Headmaster acknowledged him the King already walked out the door as the Queen sat next to her son.

"Bring me my meals as I'll stay by my son's side till he wakes."

The Headmaster could only say yes before relaying such orders to the staff of the school as he left. Once that was done with the queen was still sobbing as she could only hope for the best of her son.

One of the healers stopped after they became exhausted from Mana depletion.

"The others seem to be fine, they got help as they were saved by the prince. Prince Kayde however, it seems that whatever method he used to heal himself wasn't enough given the fact that the wounds reopened due to stress and the strain he put on himself saving his party."

As she said that the queen was still sobbing uncontrollably.

"He's lucky to be alive right now, but due to his natural healing factor we assume he will be fine soon and possibly with no scarring either. It's just a matter of when will he wake up."

The Queen thanked the healer as she left the two alone.

"My son, my baby boy... You need to wake up."

She lays her head on his chest to hear his weak yet loudly beating heart as if to signify that he isn't giving up. The Queen falls asleep with a light smile and a teary face.

As the night goes on you can see the prince's face contort in pain and then he yells like a cornered animal. His mother awakens to his screams and quickly calls for help. She turns to him and see's his wounds reopening. To her horror she sees his gold and crimson blood darkening with a sinister color.

The Headmaster and the healers all exclaimed in horror to what seems to be a terrifying curse. As that's happening the party members Liliana, Tyria, Hillary, and Gerard all wake to the wails of the Queen as she dispairs over her sons plight. Liliana goes to support the queen while the other three go to check and see whats occurring.

Tyria shivers in fear as she's scared since she noticed something that the others have missed.

"They are trying to turn him into a demon!!"

The Queen and the other pale in fear to her statement and the Headmaster calls for the emperor and sends a letter to the church of Hestia asking for the help of the Saintess.

(Kayde's POV)

'Where am I?'

I look around and see only darkness, I'm floating around aimlessly. I can hear faint laughter as if someone has won.

I move around some more and notice I'm getting closer to the laughter. As I finally arrive to the laughter I'm at a room, an Infirmary to be precise. In the room I see my mother and Liliana sitting next to me as my body is slowly undergoing some sort of metamorphosis.

I then see where the laughter is coming from.

Floating above my body is Erros, and he is very very slowly falling towards my body.

'Why are you here!? You should've died!'

"Yes yes yes! This is the best! I get to survive and kill this idiotic prince at the same time!!"

He looks to the side and sees me.

"Oh, did you come to see me as I take over your body, kill your mother and friends while ravaging your fiancee?"

'GET OUT OF MY BODY!!'

I try to speak but fail to do so. My voice can't come out and he laughs even harder.

"I am going to enjoy every last bit of this as you slowly disappear from this world."

'I WILL KILL YOU! DONT YOU DARE PUT A HAND ON THEM!'

As he keeps laughing a slight golden glow appears out of nowhere and gets brighter. Then the scene we've been observing stops.

As I look around I can feel a warm embrace envelope my body and I calm down.

"My Herald, My Champion, My Love... You are not meant to end here. I will give you sufficient strength to end this yourself. Any more than this and I will be punished severely."

'Hestia?'

As if answering my thoughts I feel a kiss land on my cheek as the light vanishes and in its place an arena could be seen.

I laugh and look towards Erros.

"Looks like it's your turn to dispair."

I then materialize my sword and as I look at him I feel an intense heat in my chest. As if by instinct I concentrate on it and a white flame swallows my body.

"HAHAHAHAHAHA! Are you trying to kill yourself!?"

Ignore his rambling and concentrate on myself. I feel two protrusions grown from my forehead into horns. Scales begin to cover the majority of my body while a long white tail pops out from my tailbone. Then as the flames dissipate I feel two large feathered dragon wings burst from my back in a shower of my blood.

I see the shock on Erros face as he realizes I can use more power here than he previously saw.

"Are you ready Erros?"

I can see fear in his eyes and then I make the first move. Before he could react I appeared in front of him and punch his abdomen. He flies into the arena walls while coughing up blood.

"Did you really think you could take over my body? Did you forget the blessings I have?"

I continue to assault him while lightly cutting his body with the sword. Then I sense him try to sneak attack me but gets stopped by my tail and gets pinned to the ground.

"You thought you would have your way!? The very moment you threatened my family and friends is when you lost! I will make sure that you have no chance at being reborn!"

As he is pinned I stab my tail into his belly. He screams like he's a child who skinned their knee. As he keeps on screaming I stab my sword into both of his knees. He starts wailing even louder and then I cut out his tongue and slice his throat where the vocal chords are.

"There I can now do this in peace."

I see tears spill from his eyes and I see complete fear envelope his visage. As I make my move to stab his left eye a dark smoke starts to creep up and then I see a smile on Erros face. He passed out before I can stab his eye and I look up with fury.

"Young prince I will be taking him back."

Without any explanation I see the same smoke envelope Erros and he vanished into thin air.

I begin to get angrier to the fact that he got away again. As I calm down I hear a whisper in my ear.

"Calm down my love, he will get what's coming to him soon enough. Dont look to the abyss lest it looks back. I can't lose you again Kayde..."

'Again?'

As the voice faded I saw my surroundings brighten and I close my eyes. Then I feel a bit heavy on my chest and stomach. I open my eyes with a groan and see something a bit odd. My mother and Liliana are laying on my chest with Tyria and Hillary on my belly. Gerard is sleeping on the couch across from us.

As I'm trying to move he opens his eyes and smiles as he sees me awake with the girls. He winks at me and then sucks in his breath.

"Kayde's awake!!"

As he spoke the girls and my mother wake up startled and then cry as they see me awake. I smile as my mother then looks at me with the most chilling smile ever.

"Don't ever do that again you hear me?"

She sounded sweet when she said that, but it was anything except that. I nodded my head slowly and then the other two girls began to assault me with hugs as Liliana began to kiss my face all over. After that ended Liliana stood up and ushered the other girls outside.

Gerard just stares with a smile.

"What was that about?"

My mother looks at me as if I'm stupid.

"My dear boy, you need to understand the workings of a maidens heart."

I get even more confused and then Gerard comes next to me laughing.

"Good luck Kayde, you are going to need it."

Not long after my father barges into the room.

After he sees me awake I can see relief wash over him. After this my day continues with me spending time with my friends and family.
