I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I thought at first perhaps Dr. Blair was winding us up, but one look at Lukas' face shot down that idea.

Dr. Blair clapped his hands. "Good, now let's get started. I assume that the both of you have now figured out what our 'work' for today is," he said while gesturing at the binds and weapons behind him. "Now..."

He was cut off by the sound of a screeching alarm blaring through the room. My hands instantly went to my ears to block out the noise. Dr. Blair growled in anger. He looked at us, and forced a smile. "I'll be right back, dearies," he spoke in a sickly sweet voice.
