Upset; Crystal bombs;

Kerren was confused at first, why would he sleep for such a long time? It wasn't possible unless something was wrong with his body, or he was too ti... Ooooh, right! He spent too much mana that day, not only that - he spent his mental powers too! That wasn't suprising that he slept for so long if you think about it! Mana was a thing that could replenish on it's own, just like your energy! You need to rest to get it back naturally, or you could use external help!

Naturally, Kerren's mana regen was... Well, let's just say that it wasn't too far off from being awful. First of all, it depended on the natural talent, second - overall capacity. More mana inside of your body meant that it could get more mana from surroundings. Magnets worked the same way, bigger magnet could pull more things from further distances!

- I guess i did sleep for a day or so, what of it? -- he asked Yusaya about her opinion on that matter since it matter a lot to him! I'd say if it actually did, but it didn't.

- Nothing, it's just i'm surprised... Did you spend so much mana back then -- she already understood the reason behind it, quite smart.

- I'd like to sleep some more, so please, f*kk off from my room. -- he stared at her while saying that.

- Dont be so rude! I was worried since i couldn't find you anywhere! -- she suddenly revealing in response to his insult.

- Oh? -- his brow rose -- Worried about me? Why? Did you fall in love? -- he said half-jokingly.

- Huh? -- her brow did the same thing -- Dont think too much of yourself, i thought of taking you as my partner, i see that u're somewhat reliable, nothing more than that -- she answered with some disgust in her voice.

That answer made Kerren think about the principal... It was just too coincidential that as soon as she told him to find a partner such a person appeared out of nowhere, and she was looking for a partner as well! What coincidence! Wow! But... What about the book then? Could principle be the one who gave it to him?.. Well, she was indeed strong and had some influence, but... such a book was impossible even to her, unless she was a part of something bigger...

- We should go help others in fending off those monsters, the university announced that students who participated the most will be awarded, so i thought that you'll be interested in that -- she revealed the reason behind her appearance this time.

- But you said that you were worried about me a minute ago?.. -- Kerren was a bit confused.

- Well, that too! Why do you think it couldn't be both? -- she asked as if she was mocking him.

- Fair enough. Still, i'm not going anywhere and i dont need your care or whatever, i'm fine on my own. -- he said blandly. He really didn't want to mess with her anymore, one could say that she was... too big for him! Get it? Hahaha!

- Dont you want to get more wealth? -- she asked -- I will pay you out of my pocket for every monster you kill, one gramm of the same crystal i gave you back then for each normal goblin and wolf you kill. Two for each soldier goblin and five for a shaman if there are any, how about it? -- she said all that with a smile, as if she was trying to sell him some bullcrap!

- Not interested. -- he didn't even look at her as he continued to observe the golbins who fought outside of the dorm -- Get lost already, i'm busy. -- he stated after a pause.

- Busy? What are you doing? -- she asked curiously -- As i see it, you're just watching others fight instead of you... -- she was dissatisfied with his behavior. She started to think that he was a coward!

- If you were just a bit smarter you would understand that no sane goblin would EVER attack someone who's stronger than he is... Unless it was an order from someone who was way stronger than his target... -- he revealed the truth.

- So you're saying that there's a lord or a king out there? -- she thought about it and it didn't sound like a random thing to say.

- First of all, those wolfes are trained really well. They dont fear fire nor any magic, really well done -- he said as if praising whoever raised them -- Second, even normal goblins have metal weaponry, usual goblins would either carry clubs or rusty trash that they found somewher, those are different. -- he continued his speech which made the girl feel strange, it was the first time she heard him talk so much -- Third, in those two minutes that i'm observing the fight they managed to kill two students... and as i can see they were awakened... -- he looked at Yusaya with a smile that made her feel uncomfortable.

- Hmm... -- it did bother her too, goblins she saw as she ran here were trained quite well and had decent weapons, she already noticed that strange thing even before Kerren mentioned it.

- Well, that just means that we have to find and kill the boss, doesn't it? -- she grinned at Kerren.

- Huh? Well, yeah, just as i said i'm not going anywhere. -- he stated without any emotion.

- Why? People are getting killed you psycho, what if those were you?! -- she asked with angry voice

- I'd feel strange having several bodies, i guess? -- he made a joke -- Get out of my room, i dont know why you think we're friends or whatever you think we are, i prefer to be alone. -- he stated, as if he hated her -- Bother me once more and i will give you a surprise. Heard of me blowing up the test room? Well, if could happen that such a thing happened to your room while you were sleeping in it... -- he looked at her with menacing eyes as he made his threat.

Of course, it was all empty talk, she was too dangerous for him to do that. He just hoped that she stops bothering him, it was too strange to be involved in such a thing, there was something going on, but he didn't know what exactly! It scared him, he just tried to have a good & peaceful life this ti.... HAHAAHAHHA! This is too funny, sorry...

Anyway, as he said it the girl didn't say a word. She simply turned around and left not bothering to look back. It made Kerren somewhat happy as that's exactly what he wanted her to do. Now, it was time to get back to sleep, right? WRONG! It's time for him to shine! He took several small crystals and put some of them in his pockets all around his clothes! The rest, however, he used as small bomb! Trying to test one out, he opened his window and launched it at one of the goblins.

As it hit his head - an explosion rang, alarming everyone present! Half of his head exploded, leaving his dead body lying on the floor! It made goblins alert and the students happy, they thought a teacher has finally arrived to help them, but as they looked in the direction where that something flew from - the was only Kerren staring somewhere!

They were shocked! Did he do that!? He only just awakened recently, how is that possible!? Was he once in a thousand years genius!? Still, even after seeing him they still felt happy, he was a fellow student, after all, he'll help them! Right?..

As Kerren jumped down, their hope went through the roof and they even started saying something like "Kerren is here! He'll show them!" "Oh my god, is he the one who killed the goblin!? He's so strong!". Did Kerren care? Not really. He heard it, obviously. As soon as he turned in a different direction from theirs they were shocked! Why is he going that way? What's going on!? Doesn't he want to help us!? Nope, good look on your own!

...

Few minutes later Kerren was in the forest he visited a few days before. He noticed a strong source of mana somewhere around here, it could mean several things. First was it was a pile of mana stones, which was impossible. Second - a strong monster shows his presence, which, he thought, was there. Third, new dungeon was about to appear or one erupted! That was a possibility too, hence the goblins. But... The source was too small for it to be a dungeon!

If one appeared or erupted the pressure would be devastating! It would frequently blow up a small area around it, making a loud sound! That didn't happened, or Kerren didn't hear it? He lacked information, but the mana he could feel made his certain that it was the second option, thus he prepared those little bombs of his... They were expensive as hell! Each crystal was around 20 to 30 gramms, and more mana in team meant that they were stronger, so he couldn't use the ones he received from the guild - they were too weak for that.

So... he was forced to use ones Yusaya gave him, it pained his heart but he had to kill the boss quickly! Why? Simple as hell, the same reward system was present when an eruption happened! If this was one - he would get lots of rewards for solo-killing the boss! Why did he think that he alone will get them, if students battled as well? It's because those monsters that they battled didn't protect the boss, they attacked, meaning that even if they did kill them - it didn't help in killing the boss! Well, technically, it could be considered as helping the boss, but only technically.

As he ran the pressure he felt was getting worse. Either the thing was getting stronger or it was receiving external power, whatever it was - he needed to be there faster, thus he took even more crystals that he had and started absorbing them to supply his acceleration spell even further! He didn't use it to it's maximum power since he still needed mana to find the boss, but he decided not to gamble, if he couldn't kill him he wouldn't get any rewards at all!

Soon, he finally saw what was going on. It wasn't the boss - there were several goblin shamans who tried to summon something! The problem was that it wasn't even 30% complete and Kerren already felt bad about it, what if that thing emergned completely? To hell with that!

Kerren manipulated those crystals and launched them towards the shamans, instantly killing them and his wealth! Each gram of those was 25 gramms of those that this world usually had! What a pain!

Sadly, the summoning wasn't over. It's not like the body on the thing wasn't there, it already was... It's just that it didn't have any power at first, it seemed that whatever this ritual summoned - it was only a part of conciousness or whatever! It was insanely strong in it's complete form!

Right now Kerren wasn't afraid of even C rank awakened from his previous life, which were A rank in this one, but he felt incredible pressure from the thing that was inside the summoning circle!

What bothered him even more is that it was inside a giant coccoon! He couldn't see what exactly that thing was! If it was big, it would be great since he could easily kill it, but if it was small? He would have to bait it out side hitting it with a crystal would be hard!

Also, you might ask, why is he fighting it if it wasn't the boss? Well, it was, you must've misunderstood me if you think it wasn't, i said that he only saw shamans originally, those weren't bosses, right? Or are they? The summoned thing was indeed the boss of this eruption, it was a thing, but since it wasn't... full, i guess? Kerren wont get the full rewards, which wasn't of his concern now!

As he walked around the circle he tried to understand it. He didn't know any summoning magic, but those symbols on it... He knew them! Those were from an ancient language that many old empires used! How could goblins know them!? That langauge was called the "Language of Mages", frequently used in almost all magic-related things, such as summoning, enchanting or even alchemy! People in this life didn't have enough knowledge about it yet, but Kerren knew a lot! First of all, he learned how to read it long ago, he wanted to earn crystals and to do that one needed to know many things! Second. The facility! He learned even more there, since it was mostly based on this language!

Of course, his knowledge was shallow compared to many great people, but he could still somewhat understand what this summoning circle did... It summoned a Highborn!
