"All set" a monotonous and professional voice replys, place the specimen and proceed... Silence...
A man watches excitedly as the scientists continue the process , with this we will surely have the world's strongest army I can't stop my imagination hehehe he mutters breathlessly
You shouldn't get too excited yet we know how your mouth manage to jinx every operation we plan to undertake
Cut it out Colonel matt I don't know how but I feel like this one will be a huge success not to mention all the efforts and the brains trust me on this
Yeah yeah I know if I remember correctly you said almost the same thing with the telepor...stop it matt I told you that was a mistake then must you bring it up again?
I know and I know too of the sacrifices and am optimistic about this too just don't ruin it this time.
This is commander Bryan and his friend colonel Matt,it have always been commander Bryans dream to build a technological organisation and the happen to have similar dreams but commander Bryan is always the most enthusiastic and this is the latest operation and also with the highest success rate and as always he can't keep to himself.
Few hours later .....gene mutation successful....
Yesssssss! and it wasn't the scientists who engineered it that rejoiced but of course the over enthusiastic commander Bryan,I did it!I did it!I did it...no you didn't the scientists I employed did Colonel matt cut in with a roll of his eyes but commander Bryan didn't give him any attention he ran down to the basement like a kid given a birthday present
Show me! show me! he shouted and shook the chief scientist,the man who looked famished looked at Colonel matt with pleading eyes to help him out of the clutches of kid of a man
Colonel Matt's lips twitched uncontrollably at the Man who was supposed to be his superior act like an excited teenager,he calmly explained to him that he shouldn't act like that as he should act his age and position as if he knew he won't care about all those things he continued besides the specimen must be weak due to the experiment conducted on it as such must be left under intensive observation to avoid complications only then did he leave the scientist who breathed a sigh of relief. For a moment their I thought I was going to faint there he muttered, so when are we checking it out commander Bryan asked impatiently, in a few hours hopefully replied the chief scientist
Shortly after... Release the specimen (whirring of machines) okay let's watch, they watched as the rabbit (specimen) jumped out it stood still for a while as if thinking then started looking around intelligently, if you look closely at the rabbit you would notice that it had a few features of a bird mostly of an eagle judging by it's slit like pupils, feathers scattered here and there and little scales on its hind legs as the watched as something slowly crept out of it's back at first it looked like a bump but it steadily grew till it got the shape of wings though it looked slow to the eyes it happened in mere seconds the rabbit flapped it's wings amateurly as it slowly left the ground and flew around,
The audience clapped satisfied with the success, a look of pride evident on their faces commander Bryan out right called for celebration while Colonel matt gave order to perform more experiments especially different animals and then dismissed them for the day.
Our dream have become a reality finally Colonel matt said to commander Bryan who was looking at the sky with a drunken expression, hmmm am reminiscing of our journey to now, at first it was stressful and frustrating but with this success I just feel like..... full, as if I never felt otherwise before he expressed, to be sincere I was thinking of quitting if we failed this one too, am glad it all worked out in the end Colonel matt said yeah..... they continue to chat till midnight where the retired to their rooms
