Chapter 50: Cade Returns

The women of the pack had taken turns staying with her and with each new person in her house, she learned more about her role in the group. Being married to the Alpha meant that Rose was the pack’s Luna. She was the matriarch of the clan per se.

How ironic that she’d never had a pet and Keegan had been the first living being she’d ever taken care of, but now she was supposed to take care of a group of wolves.

She wasn’t daunted by the task, and no one had faulted her for failing to step up. They understood that she was a human and that she hadn’t been raised to know these things. She relished taking on that role, but she wasn’t sure that was all she could do.

She had a family tradition to uphold, but she didn’t feel the need to honor them anymore. They hadn’t been family, but these wolf shifters, living in the woods, had made her feel more welcome than she’d ever felt anywhere. They’d accepted her even though she was human.
