Unexpectedly, Zrika was able to conquer Kayer in the battle with only a few wolves falling victim to Xarbalte. With their King dead and their second in command missing, the people of Kayer had no choice but to surrender to Azriel and his men. It took several days to get things back on track and deal with the outrage from the Kayer court but Azriel, Lyonne, and Marck pushed through until they got total submission.
In the midst of the ongoing chaos, there was a looming threat of resistance groups forming, which could have escalated the situation into further conflict. However, as things began to settle down, Marck made his return to his kingdom, while Analice arrived to provide much-needed support to Dahlia. They established their main base at Kayer with the primary objective of locating Tobias and eliminating all remaining Xarbalte threats.
"Have they searched the area and the surrounding premises?" Azriel asked Lyonne.
"Not a sign of him."
