1001 AD

Kol POV

Yep, things got fucked up and escalated quickly, I came back from the woods from my daily hunt in order to get control of my bloodlust and I see Niklaus bound to tree.

It seems that Esther has already placed his curse, frankly I'm concerned despite Nik being closer to Elijah, I still love and care for him as my brother and I'm pretty sure he feels the same way.

Seeing him like this makes me angry at our parents. Mikael I can understand, he's not Nik's father but our mother is a controlling hypocrite.

Rather than Esther, all witches are hypocrites who claim to be servants and protectors of nature when they just use their magic powers for their own ends. Plus, since when did nature decree witches as their servants, if anything magic follows its own laws so every supernatural being has a weakness creating a balance.

Witches have no say in laws magic is subjected to, so they just claim to servants of nature to justify themselves. Witches are just evolved humans with psychic power.

Despite all that, I still have love for my mother but I will choose my siblings over her because if she lives any longer, she will begin plotting to kill us. If anything, she has already started entertaining the idea.

"Nik, are you okay?" I say as I approach and begin undoing his bindings

"Kol, mother cursed me and we found out that I'm not father's son but the son one of then werewolves" Nik said shakily as he wobbled free of the chains.

I put his arm around my shoulder to support him

"It doesn't matter if you aren't father's son, you're still my big brother but for now we need to keep you out of father's sight" I comforted him to which he gave a small smile.

We were interrupted by Elijah speeding in front of us.

"Niklaus, Kol, father has gone to the wolf territory" he said looking at Nik worriedly.

"Elijah, we should wait for Nik to recover before going to see what has happened" I reply to him

Elijah nods and I just sigh knowing what is coming, I better make a copy of Esther's grimoire.

Standing out of sight as Nik is burying our mother is a complicated feeling, I know he killed her but I have nothing against him. When Nik was killing her, I rummaged through her grimoire and noticed she was already planning to find a way to reverse our vampirism and kill us.

I'm just numb right now, if I never had my past life memories, I would have been indecisive. While Esther was a decent mother to me despite her controlling nature, I don't love her that much to allow her kill me and my siblings. When next we meet, I have the resolve to face and if necessary, eliminate her as an enemy.

I hear Nik, Rebekah and Elijah make their always and forever vow, I could have been Included in it but I don't want to be with my siblings everyday for my immortal life.

"Are you going to keep watching from afar Kol?" Elijah called

Approaching them, "Always and forever is a long time even for us but I promise you my siblings I'll always have your backs"

Nik smirked at me "Someone as irresponsible as you watching our backs, what has the world come to. Right Elijah?"

"Indeed Niklaus"

"Hey stop making fun of Kol, he can be reliable at times" Rebekah added.

We all laughed at the playful banter, enjoying each other's company while each of us knew that we would soon begin running from Mikael.
