Yellow Brick Lane

Dorothy and Toto are walking down the Yellow Brick Lane where there's a brick wall, all colored in yellow.

Barking at Dorothy.

'Yes Toto, I do own cats now, but it doesn't mean I forgot about you. I'm just not ready for a new dog. Then again, a talking dog would be lovely, and you should meet Darien though. That Irish cat does love to sleep around, but he is reliable. Then again…'

Dorothy looks at Toto who's speaking from her view in the Irish accent.

'Blimey, Dorothy. Seems you have a problem over there.'

Seeing what Toto is seeing, a pair of crows are dropping an African-American farmer girl, in the middle of the road. She's wearing a straw hat.

Looking frustrated as the crows are eating up the field. Cross legged sitting on the road, trying to think.

Looking down at her. 'Makayla?'

She looks up at her. 'My word, I didn't expect to see you here, Dorothy.' Getting up, all wobbly.

'Feelings natural?'

'What's natural about being all wobbly?' Makayla is trying to stand still.

Dorothy and Toto are just watching Makayla, trying to stand still.

'What brings you to this part of the neighborhood?' Makayla managed to stand still as she leaned on the wooden fence.

'One last trip in Kansas with Toto, before going back home. But what were you doing here?' Dorothy turns to see a crow laughing at Makayla.

Makayla is angrily grinding her teeth at the crow.

'I'm gonna shoot you up, Jim!'

'Jim?' Dorothy looks at the crow then back at Makayla, then has a realization of a certain aspect of this mindscape. 'Oh, I kind of see it now.'

'See what?' Makayla asked.

'Since technically, I did come from this time period, I still show some lingering imagery.'

'By that, meaning?' Makayla leans towards Dorothy with a curious look.

'I still…' Dorothy is sweating heavily because she doesn't want to bring it up. 'Have some of my old ways mentality.'

'Is it something I should wack you for?' Makayla pulls out her pistol, tapping it on her palm.

'Wack away.' Dorothy puts down Toto as she gives out her consent.

Toto watches as Makayla starts wailing at Dorothy.

'Anything else I should know about, Dorothy?'

Holding Dorothy up by the collar.

Having a black eye, missing a tooth, and bruised up.

Thinking of anything that comes to mind. 'When I first met you, I thought you were an idiot? I guess that's why I thought you were a farm handler since back then, some white folk think that…'

Toto continues to watch as Makayla continues to beat Dorothy up before finishing up what she was about to say.

Dorothy lays down on the ground, being covered in blood then it magically disappears as she gets up.

'Are we done here? Because I do have to make a few more stops before.' Dorothy sits up, cracking her neck then doing some arm stretches before getting up.

The crow continues to laugh at them until Makayla shoots it dead.

'Screw off, Jim.' Makayla put away her pistol. 'Time to change for a bit.'

Makayla unbuttoned her overall straps, then she took off her large shirt to reveal a midriff shirt. Right after pulling her shirt, her braided up hair has turned into an afro. Felt up her hair then looked at Dorothy.

'Really?'

'It's either that or do you want Jim to come back. And personally, I was watching a 70's show, and I kind of love the afro look.'

Makayla signs, then gives Dorothy a soft tap on the head. 'Do you have a headband?' Dorothy magically pulls it from her pocket. Give it to Makayla to put the afro on the back. 'So where else are we going?'

'Into the woods.' Dorothy points at the forest.

'Ah great!' Makayla smiles which lead Dorothy to be confused. 'So I can shoot up more crows when I see them.'

'That's odd, but not the oddest I had ever heard of.' Dorothy picks up Toto to walk up to the forest with Makayla.

'Unless you want me to beat some brains into you?'

'Regardless, my brains are in a mess right now.' Dorothy leans next to a tree who ended up to be Olivia Johnston, wearing lumberjack attire.

Olivia pulls Dorothy up to a tree with her holding an ax around her neck. 'What brings you up here in the neighborhood?'

'Well, I wasn't expecting to be in Wonderland.' Dorothy mutters to herself.

Olivia eye twitches from the comment. 'How about I'll carve you up?!'

'I forgot how heartless you can be!' Dorothy remembers how she met Olivia the first time in the same situation.

'Then I'll chop up darkie over there! She seems like she's a stupid one.' Olivia angrily spoke up to Makayla.

She walks up to Oliva then pistol whip her down hard. 'Want to say that again, whitie?' Placing the tip of the pistol at the back of the head of Olivia.

'You ain't gonna break my spirit, it's made of iron.' Olivia looks up at Makayla.

'From where I'm standing, it seems to be made out of tin.'

Dorothy pulls Makayla away from Olivia. 'Alright! Alright!' Standing in between of them as Olivia is getting up. 'Knock it off, both of you or else I'll have to get physical myself!'

Both Makayla and Olivia weld their respective weapons at her.

'Or how about we all just take a trip down this yellow brick lane?'

'Well you haven't answered my question, why are you here in my neighborhood?' Olivia withdraws her pocket knife.

'To go back home, but I want to take a trip here one last time first?'

Dorothy's arm hooks both of them.

'Then let's keep going!'

Both Makayla and Olivia stood there as Dorothy slipped down on the ground on her own.

'Ow!'

Toto licks Dorothy's cheek.

'Hey, Dorothy. Why do you seem to be focused on this trip?' Oliva asks as she kneels down for her.

'To get that one last feeling again, since I'm just sitting in a room, getting a history lesson.' Dorothy sat up then picked up Toto. 'Then the next thing I know, I ended up here.'

Makayla leans down. 'Then why not fly there? You're a Witch, aren't you?'

Dorothy slightly looks down then hesitates to answer till the trio collapse down into a small hole where another girl apologizes.

Walking up to the hole, is a crying out of worry, Abigail Bones.

She's wearing a military uniform with a fur collar and cuffs.

'Sorry!'

Olivia stood up and angrily pulled Abigail down in the hole. 'Who the hell are you?'

'Some army girl?'

Dorothy recognized her. 'It's just Abbie.'

Getting up with Toto mock barks at Abbie.

'Why are you wearing a military uniform? But I like the fur.'

Abigail looks at herself. 'I don't know, this is your mindset. I just manifest in your mind.'

Dorothy then remembers Emma von Wolfgang and her Neo Brauns Army, and then had a horrifying imagery of seeing Abigail Bones going under her real name as Abigail Reinhart, and as a member of the Neo Brauns Army.

She shakes out of disgust from the imagery.

'Well, the fur? I recall meeting you and you're acting like you're the apex predator but hide behind me when Mrs. Webster was looking for you. You were some kind of a cowardly lioness.'

Abbie looks at herself some more then re-ask a question. 'Why am I in a German uniform then?'

Dorothy bobs her head. 'That's because after I heard about the Nazis for the first time, I kind of thought that all Germans were Nazis until you showed me a history lesson about it, and then there's your auntie which I recall when she visited my home which was on fire. If I'm being honest, it's either that look or the typical German look of a plump up woman holding cheese and sausages with a beer mug.'

Abbie then offers them help by offering her hand.

Getting out of the hole, Olivia pulls Abbie closer while holding her pocket knife at the throat, with Makayla has her pistol aim next to her head.

'Why the hell were you trying to trap us?' Olivia said.

'Because that isn't smart when you just pissed off two people with weapons.' Makayla adds.

Dorothy pulls both of them away. 'I deeply apologize for their behavior. It's just something I remember from seeing them as.'

All of them cool themselves down.

Olivia had a question, 'How do the Germans look in your mind, Dorothy?'

Dorothy turns to Abbie who is revealed to be a fat German stereotype. All three are trying to hold their laughter, while Abbie is not finding this funny at all.

'Can you just turn me into something I like?!' She shouted out to Dorothy while having a German accent.

She looks around then recalls her favorite sport then snaps her finger.

Abbie looks at herself to reveal that she's in a baseball player uniform with a generic lion logo.

She shrugs. 'This will work.' Speaking in her Boston accent. She does a few swings then taps an apple tree which has apple-like baseballs. 'So where to?' Abbie hits a few hitters.

'Home. Where else?' Dorothy smiles.

'And where's that?' All three are playing around with the apple throwing trees.

Dorothy chuckled. 'I recall what people call my home back from my time period. The Emerald Hill.'

'Why's that?' Abbie asks.

'One of the brightest days of the year, the hill top of my home glows like emeralds.'

'The more and more I'm hearing about these emerald hills, you seem like you're from Ireland, mate.' Toto spoke up.

'Looking back, and seeing some of Ireland's history, I can see the comparisons even more. Maybe I should dress up like a Catholic Irishwoman.'

Olivia asks. 'Do you pray for God and hope for a baby? Or get a backhand from a drunken husband?'

'I would've been more of the former, if I'm being honest.' Dorothy is looking over to see her place on the emerald hill. 'I wonder why people become something far worse after waking up from this spell?'

Dorothy leads the way with the trio behind her.

Makayla spoke up. 'Maybe it's something you're facing?'

'What do you mean?' Dorothy turns to her as she walks.

'Because you did live in a racial household, and you do see us in a certain light. Like me, being a black girl that lives under Jim, speaking of which.' Makayla took a potshot to a crow on the tree branch. 'Like what do you see Ollie here? We saw how you see Abbie here.'

Dorothy stops. Turns to see Ollie who's wearing her Greaser look that she met. 'I guess I still find her a little intimidating, right after I had met Abbie here. She had her me pinned back to a wall, with her Familiar, threatening to kill me. I was saved by both Mrs. Green and her Familiar.'

The Forest itself turned into a Bad Apple hallway where she met Olivia.

'Actually, the Bad Apple where I met you all, and now we're somewhere close, the Catch-Up Cabin.'

Dorothy continues to walk as the environment changes from the Catch-Up Cabin then turns back to the forest itself.

'As we all fought against each other at the Bad Apple, I honestly thought I wouldn't survive because I'm surrounded by much more experienced Witches. I never imagined myself to be a Guild Leader of the Wicked Witches, and if I'm being honest to myself, I didn't see myself with a Jewish girl, a black girl, and a German girl. Then later on I have a friend who's on the enemy side, and a Mexican girl. But everything turn out in this way, which, I don't actually mind it at all really.'

Emma von Wolfgang is standing in front of Dorothy.

'Even part of me, during my fight with Emma, I was thinking of killing her. But the better part of me disagrees and wants to bring out the good in a person. That didn't happen, which ironically, the only time she showed good was when we were discussing payment and human rights, which I disagree with her, so we fought. And if I lived through World War 2, I would've been on the side of killing every last one of the Nazis, but I wasn't strong enough to beat her, as I was fighting something else during that fight and was not trying to kill her. Since I'm always against killing, since…'

Dorothy looks down to see Darien, her Familiar, in place of Toto.

'I didn't want to take a life, even though it might have been for the best. I know killing is unavoidable, but if I have to kill someone, it would be when they cut all the strings that are attached to my heart.'

Looking back to see everyone she had met in the 21st Century, in their modern day look, all but Almira.

'There's some demons I still have to face.'

Dorothy looks at Almira who has green skin and has a traditional Witch look. Walking up to her.

'Mrs. Green. I might not be able to say this to you at first, but I will say it to you when that day comes. And when that day does come…'

Dorothy grabs a bucket of water, pour it over Almira, to melt away the green bits of her skin to see her in her younger state.

'I will forgive you, and hopefully we can move on from then on.'

Both Dorothy and Almira smile at each other.

Laughs. 'I still remember what you would usually say, whenever Toto and I walk by your place.'

Almira repeats in a Witchy way, 'I'll get you, my little pretty, and your little dog too.'

'Well, you did end up getting me.'

Dorothy walks by her to continue her way to her house, which is right behind Almira.

To Dorothy's surprise, she sees a woman that resembles her with a middle aged look. Smiles up to her.

'Hey, mom.'
