Academy

"Young Master..."

"Yes?" answered Kyle startled after being lost in the scenery,

"We're about to reach the Academy," said a guard named Alex, peaking through the carriage's right window.

"Okay, send a letter to my parents to inform them of my arrival," answered Kyle.

Although the Academy was a bit underwhelming compared to the Royal Palace, it was still huge nonetheless, it was 1,000 meters in length, 800 meters in width and its height rose up to 300 meters.

There were many buildings inside it, including the boys' dormitory, a girls' dormitory, a library, a meeting hall, a research hall, a cafeteria, a lecture hall and many other minor buildings. The buildings were made of bright colored magic-proof bricks which made fighting in duels and demonstrating magic possible without any damage, it also had cone-shaped roofs made from a special azure material found by an S-rank adventurer from the northern sea. Surrounding the Academy was a magic barrier set by a Grandmaster Mage.

In front of the Academy's gate were countless carriages that represented nobles and countless people that represented commoners blocked by a huge black gate made from similar magic-proof materials.

"Wow!!, Are those the young nobles from the 5 Dukedoms?!!" exclaimed one of the commoners, shifting the attention of everyone including Kyle to the 5 flying carriages coming from the sky.

"Guess there was no need for us to bring out our best carriage if they were going to put us to shame with their 3-star artifact!" snickered Kyle, knowing that 3-star artifacts are immensely rare, and all 5 families possessing one with a wind element which allowed them to make such a fancy entrance leaving all the other nobles dispirited was even more impressive.

A couple of minutes later, the Magic Academy's gate opened and an assistant professor appeared in the middle of the sky before them with pressure emanating from him that put everyone including the nobles inside the carriages down on their knees.

The assistant professor appeared to be a middle-aged man with sharped features giving off an eerie and serious vibe.

"Get out of the carriages! Beyond this point you can only walk!" said the assistant professor, although he spoke in a normal tone, his voice could be heard by everyone which made the more experienced maids guess that it was reinforced by magic.

The assistant professor and his pressure disappeared just as he finished his speech. The young nobles came out of their carriages with their maids, while the guards and horsemen turned away and left as instructed by their masters.

The Academy was made to accommodate 10,000 people as such there were about 2,500 new students every year. Kyle was still shocked by the professor's pressure but that only made him resolve himself even more to work hard and attain such power in the future.

The commoners ran straight ahead all excited for a luxury life they could've never imagined having while the nobles hid their excitement to uphold their pride.

The new students were led to the meeting hall by instructors who were 5-circle mages. Kyle speculated that if instructors were 5-circle mages then the assistant professor that appeared at the gate must've been a 6-circle master mage which made him think of the possibility of the Professors being 7-circle master mages, which he quickly dismissed because of the absurdity of it.

7-circle master mages are respected across the continent and that is purely because of the hardships they have to face to reach such a terrifying level, with each passing circle it is much harder to achieve the following one so although Kierra has become a 4-circle magician in her second year here, there is no guarantee for her to reach 5-circle by the time she graduates.

At the meeting hall, all students, commoners and nobles alike stood in an orderly form as instructed by the instructor who led them here. To their surprise who welcomed them was none other than the youngest grandmaster mage on the continent, Theodore Chronos, the younger brother of King Hugo Chronos.

A grandmaster mage has enough power to wipe out a city in a flash, such power could've made him king anywhere. However, he decided that his brother was more fit to be king and thus helped him in his Academy project. To make sure that no corruption occurred, he became the headmaster.

Nobles instantly knew who he was because of his handsome facial features, which were sharp eyebrows, alert eyes, a symmetric nose, and a well-defined jawline. However, what made even the commoners recognize him were the Royal Family's natural blonde hair and red eyes.

Even Kyle who was considered pretty handsome because of his mother's genetics who was once hailed as the prettiest lady of Sierra Kingdom felt pale in comparison, whereas Theodore's blonde hair and red eyes overtook Kyle's brown hair and hazel eyes.

The students freaked out after they got over the shock and realized that they were in front of a person they could only look up to.

However, after hearing the words: "A-Ahem..." uttered by Theodore Chronos, the hall fell quiet as no one would dare talk while a grandmaster mage is talking.

"I welcome you all to the Magic Academy of Sierra Kingdom, here we are going to be helping you future pillars of the Kingdom to mature, you will be having a 4-year course where you will learn more about magic and will decide which path to will take. You will also experience real-life battles in certain exams to further prepare you for the real world. If you have any questions, you can go ahead and ask the instructors they'll be sure to help you. That is all." Theodore's speech was a normal one yet made many feel the chills. Kyle was more excited than ever especially when he heard about the real-life battles he will get to experience.

The students were led to their dormitory after the speech. The dormitory for both boys and girls was a 4-story building, each floor accommodating up to 1,500 students and every floor representing a year.
