Chapter 3: Power Sets

"Sorry, I think I misheard you. What do you mean by 'Power Set'?"

Now Roman was genuinely confused. He thought having a Blessing was cool enough, and now he's being told he has some kind of set of powers.

[Owner did not misunderstand. Owner is one of many 'Power Set' holders. More commonly known as Power Users.]

"Ok, then explain more clearly what that means please. I have enough of a headache already with all the other information you gave me, so please try and keep it brief."

[Yes Owner.]

"Also, stop calling me Owner, just call me by name or sir, or something else."

[Yes Sir.]

"You know what, I give up for now."

[You're current 'unnatural calmness' as you've noticed is thanks to your Perk {Inhumanly Even-Tempered}, which allows you to remain clear-headed in almost any situation, while also being less susceptible to your emotions in both normal, and extreme moments.]

Roman was stunned. That sounded… almost incredibly great right? So the reason he's been calm all this time was thanks to this perk?

He's heard a little bit about this before back then in a book. Apparently this is one of the most ideal states of mind people look for in some specific professions, like teachers.

I mean, who wants an adult male or female, who is easily prone to rage or annoyance, around a bunch of children? People who are even-tempered can easily deal with most situations in a quiet and confident type of way.

"No wonder I was so casual when I saw my appearance for the first time waking up and accepted everything so easily. So when you mention Inhumanly, I'm assuming that everything is the exact same as I'm thinking, but to a much higher degree?"

[You're correct Sir.]

"Nice. Then explain to me the rest of this 'Power Set'."

[Power Sets are made up of mainly a Main Ability, a Talent/Talents, and a Perk/Perks. There are also possibilities of having a Blessing, Curse, and Special Physique, but the chances are rarer.]

"I can have more than one Perk or Talent? What about a Main Ability, can I have more than one as well? Oh, and the same question for Blessing, Curse and Special Physique."

[Yes Sir it's possible to have more than one Main Ability, however the chances are even rarer than having a Blessing. It is however possible to create some Sub-Abilities through Main ones.]

[It is currently deemed impossible to have more than one Blessing and Special Physique, however it's deemed possible to have more than one Curse in some instances.]

Roman took a bit of time to think about that. So it's possible for someone to have more than one of every 'Power' in the set, except for a Blessing, and Special Physique. So what is this about Curses?

[Curses are the exact opposite of Blessings. If creation and reality blesses you, then whatever lies 'Outside' does it's best to do the opposite. Although not everyone has a Blessing, most Power Users are indeed Cursed. This is especially true for those who are Blessed.]

Now, Roman was stunned for two reasons. One because he just found out he was Cursed which kicked him off his short-lived, but not really noticeable, high horse. And two, his A.I just responded to him without him even questioning it.

[Sir, you have failed to notice that I am a chip inside of your soul. Although you have been speaking out loud this whole time, I can communicate with you directly through your thoughts to help conserve time and prevent anyone from viewing you as crazy.]

Now, he felt like a total idiot. Even his own A.I was telling him off. However he also noticed another important thing. But he's not going to speak out loud like an idiot anymore.

'Is it me, or is your attitude and personality slowly growing?'

[Correct Sir. As previously mentioned, as you grow, so do I. This is not only limited to functions, but personality as well.]

[I learn from you and what you desire in order to better help you whenever required. This also includes, and is not limited, towards your needs, wants, and also wellbeing, whether physical or mental.]

This pleasantly surprised him. Based on everything he's understood about his A.I till now, it basically wasn't lying earlier about being unable to go against him.

'Ok I understand everything now. Since it seems like you're also forming a personality, I'll have to come up with a name for you as well. But first, can you tell me what my Curse is too?'

[Yes Sir, however, I can also inform you of your entire 'Power Set', and physical/spiritual state should you require it, if you allow me to perform a Deep Body/Soul Scan.]

'That actually sounds extremely cool. Go ahead and do that then. Also, include my physical and spiritual state as well. I've been wondering what that strange mental message meant earlier about how a sack of bones is considered an acceptable state.'

[Permission to perform a Deep Body and Soul Scan has been granted!]

[Initializing parameters…]

[Power Set scan authorized!]

[Physical state scan authorized!]

[Spiritual state scan authorized!]

[Accessing memories…]

'Wait, why are you accessing my memories again? Can you just do that whenever you want?' he mentally questioned.

[Memory accessing halted.]

[Unless specifically instructed by you not to do so Sir, your memories are usually what allow me to carry out my duties in the manner or form that suits your likeness, while also improving myself, and allowing me to stay updated with information that may be required at any time.]

'Ok I get it, so why are you accessing them this time then?'

[I would like to use your memories of other humans you've interacted with in order to better organize your physical and spiritual state in a way that would best make sense for you since I have no other data or information to compare your current condition with.]

Now Roman just feels like slapping himself. That should've made sense to him even before he asked.

Although he knows he should be cautious since he's literally in the weirdest predicament one can ever find themselves in. So far, his A.I. Chip has been answering all of his questions so far. So he should probably give it the benefit of the doubt for now until it gives him a reason not to… right?

*Sigh*

'Alright go ahead and access my memories.'

[Permission to access memories has been granted, continuing scan.]

[Due to this being the first time for me to assess your condition Sir, it is estimated to take an hour for the scan to be completed in the most thorough fashion.]

'Alright then, take your time I guess. I'll just look around the place a bit and see if I missed anything.'
