Escaping

I spent as much time as possible with Bree. She had gotten over the initial shock and was not crying herself to sleep anymore. Father also came to check on her multiple times at night. During daytime, it was Mum who tried to be with her.
"I thought I was really good at defending myself. But he was too strong," Bree said over dinner one night.
"You are strong for your age. However, he is much older, bigger and stronger," Mum said.
"You are still growing. You can become much stronger than him and most people as your body develops and you practice more. It takes time," Father explained. Father had been acting very gentle with Bree. He was also worried about her, which was a side that was rare to see in Father.
"I wish I become so strong that no one can hurt me," Bree said.
Mum nodded. "That's a good spirit, darling. I know you can do it."
